Well, I've finally decided to get off of my lazy butt and start a type of blog on this place we call the infranet. It's been nearly a year since I joined, so I guess it's about time.
Well, recently a bought a 360. I've had my eye on it since the summer of last year, so I finally gave in and picked one up. I must say, I'm blown away by the plethorea of incredible features. That's right, I said plethorea. Not sure if I spelt it right, but whatever.
X-Box Live is simply a joy. Having owned Halo 2 since 2004 and not being able to play in on Live and only used my PSP and NDS online , I have finally seen the light. X-Box Live, or XBL I guess, is wonderfully intergrated into all of the games. Whether I want to play Co-Op in Gears of War with a buddy or just chat with him or her while I have a quick race in Project Gotham Racing 3, it's all there. Worth the $50? Oh, hell yes.
The graphics are simply stunning. All of the games I've played so far look amazing and HD fully blows the graphics to true greatness. While a lot of people may point to Gears of War as the pinacle of 360 graphics at the moment, I have to give some props to Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. The incredible environments make you want to explore the huge world.
Another thing, achievements. Dear God, I see why Jeff is obsessed with them. I try not to let them take over, but the urge to get an easy 15 points is just too much sometimes.
The downisde are the cost of the games. I barely have any money, so I can't afford any games. I am looking into Gamefly, I can manage to pay $20 some odd dollars to rent a bunch of games in a month. It will definitely help during the summer when I'll have more time to catch up on all of the titles coming out this Spring.
So, I'm pretty happy with my new system. It's incredibly fun and has a very bright future.
