Back from AX '09

Hey all, back from Anime Expo 2009 at the L.A. Convention Center over the July 4th weekend. It was pretty fun, the weather in L.A. was amazing.

The convention was cool, nothing too specific or special I really did. We mostly just walked around, looked at things, bought stuff, got free junk and took pictures. I went with 6 other people, all stuck in the same hotel room. That was fun lol. I didn't take as many pictures as I could have or as many as I did last year.

Those are some of the pictures I took, I uploaded them on Facebook and I don't want to re-upload them here xD. And yes Angel I got your fan LOL.

Thanks

Long time no see (again) and AX '09

Hello there,

I realize I haven't been on here in AGES. I still follow video games, but I spend most of my time over at Giantbomb.com, it's a great website and everyone who likes games should check it out.

So I'm in the summer after my first year as a college student. It's been a very interesting and confusing trip. I'm really enjoying my time in college thus far, much better than high school in my opinion. I've joined CKI (Circle K International) the college counterpart of KEY club in high school. I've also taken up table tennis as an active hobby of mine, and I plan on joining the table tennis club when I start again next semester. I'm having a lot of fun, which is great.

Now, in a few days I'll be heading to LA for Anime Expo over the July 4th weekend. It's funny because my last blog post here was for AX last year. I'm going to be going for my 2nd year now and I'm looking forward to it. It should be a mess of fun and I'll be sure to post pictures and describe the adventure when I get back. (Even though there will most likely be no one reading this.)

Thanks!!

Back from AX '08

Hey! Well I'm back from LA and the Anime Expo! It was really cool, I had a great time. I was situated at my friend's brother's apartment across the street from little Tokyo, which was awesome. The convention was four days long and we went to all four days.

The convention was freakin' HUGE, there was over 25,000 people attending the expo. There was lines for EVERYTHING. We saw a mess of cosplayers; some were really really good, and some not so good. Well it's safe to say we saw some rather interesting people at the convention :P

Hmm what else? Well I got an autograph from the man who voiced Snake in the Metal Gear series: David Hayter!! The line was ridiculous, but we got up pretty early to wait in line. Two years ago, at Anime Vegas '06 I also got an autograph of the man who voiced Raiden from Metal Gear Solid. So now I have the signatures of both of the leading characters in MGS!!! :D

Well I'm back now, with a lot of crap that I bought lol.

Well I guess I'll ttyl ;)

Anime Expo '08 L.A.

Why hello there. So Tomorrow I'm going to be heading to L.A. (if you didn't know, I live in Las Vegas ) I'm going to be driving over there with four of my friends, and we're going to be staying at my friend's older brother's place the entire time. I'm going to be gone from the 2nd to the 6th. The main reason we're heading over there is to attend Anime Expo '08. This is going to be much larger than Anime Vegas which I've attended for the last two years. I'm very excited to be attending this event.

We don't really have any plans for the convention, we're just going to wing it) People such as David Hayter (the voice actor for Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series are going to be there.

Well I'll see you guys later I'll be sure to write about all of my crazy escapades ;)

Long Time No Anything at All

Well well, I haven't been here in a while have I? Well actually I regularly visit GS for game news and what not, but I don't really partake in the community at all.

I guess I've just been busy with life you know? I started my GScapades three summers ago mostly because I really had nothing to do, but then I got really into it, and I'm glad I did. Sounds funky, but there were a lot of good times and interesting people met on my time on this site. I actually met a really good friend (with the same birthday as me =P ) who I haven't been really talking to much, but I'll never forget that person, she'll always be in the corner of my mind, inexorably kicking me in the face.

I apologize for my frequent absence, but I have too many things to do. Don't worry though, Gamespot is still and will be bookmarked and I will visit every now and then, maybe to read and comment a blog or two.

Well I still remember how I used to write blogs, and I guess I'll be seeing you around.;)

That hurts

Wow, just wow. I cannot believe this. Ryan Davis is now leaving GS. That marks the last shread of hope I had for this site and its editorial team and upper management. Seeing him leave will mark the last of the great GS editors that I grew to love so much. I had listened to the Hotspot every tuesday for a good year and a half straight; I had grown a sense of intangible brotherhood with these editors, personalities, and most of all, people. First it was Bob, then Carrie, Greg, and Rich. All people I had hated to see leave, but was still happy a certian few people were still around.. Then it happened, Jeff was terminated. Something I, no, no one had seen coming. An event that left hundreds, perhaps thounsands shocked, and well, just plain angry; after Jeff had left, that seemed to set off the exodus of Tim, Alex, and now Ryan. That's it, the whole crew is officially dead. I hate to say it, I REALLY hate to say it, but it's undeniably true. For some reason, it just hit me hard. One of my dreams was to work at GS alongside the great minds, and personalities of these people. But now that dream is shattered. I just don't know anymore, aghughghudasjhgadjf..

School...and Anime Vegas?

Hey everyone. Well School started yesterday for me =/ It was half joy and half misery as I got to see all of my old friends again, yet at the same time the day marked the beginning of this new school year, the end of summer, nights upon nights of sleep deprivation, as well as my last year of High School. This year will at least be interesting, being my last year and all. I have one AP class and the rest are honors, although I do have one free period at the end of the day in which I can leave school and go home early, which is nice.

My thoughts of this '07 - '08 school year:

Sleepless, busy, hard, fun, adventerous, great, terrible, odd, normal, interesting along with a million other things going through my head about this year. I'm already meeting new people, which is one of my favorite parts of a new year.

My summer was alright; I didn't go out of town, or do anything really interesting. Mostly I just "hung out" with certain friends and what not. I didn't play many games, I did finally beat FF XII, and started playing Disgaea. ( THANKS AGAIN ANGEL!! =D )

In other news, what's NOT so bad about these upcoming weeks is Anime Vegas, which I am again attending this labor day weekend. For those of you who don't know Anime Vegas is a fairly large anime exposition here in Las Vegas. My friends and I might make another video, along with a myriad of pictures, so watch out for those.

Well that's pretty much all I have to talk about for now.

I'll ttyl

2nd Anniversary!

Hey everyone, I just realized, yesterday marked my second year here at Gamespot! I didn't realize that it has been that long since I first joined this site. I think I've had the same user icon since I joined =p, I think it would be weird if I changed it, so I just kept it all this time.

I've had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people since I joined. I'm glad to have met all of you, and I'm sorry if I had lost contact with some of you. I thank everyone that has made my stay here at Gamespot more enjoyable.

I've played a lot of games, met a lot of people, made a lot of designs, watched a lot of videos, and made lots of posts, among other things since my stay here at GS. This site, it's users, and editors have always been non-stop fun and laughter. This site is still the first place I go when I turn on my computer, and still my one source of video game news.

well that's about it, I'll ttyl later!

Summertime =D

Hey everyone! how's it going? Well It's finally summer, and no more school for a while! yay!! but will you look at thatl; somehow I still manage to have homework >_>. I'm taking AP Government and Politics next year, so I have AP homework to do over the summer...yay. Also I'm skipping from Japanese 1 to ***. 3 so I have to do ALL of Japanese 2's work over the summer. Oh well it's still not as bad or stressful as it was.

Well I'm looking for a job, I already applied to some places, I'll keep you updated on whether I get hired or not. So either way, school or vacation I'm still some kind of busy >_>. Oh well, I need the money for a lot of things. I want a new guitar, along with money for the other stuff like games and manga and such. Also to keep my cell phone in service I'm gonna need to pay for it, thus I need a job.

Hmm in other news...well there isn't really any other news, I'm still watching DN, Bleach, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan. I guess since I have more time now, I'm gonna catch up on some other sereis' that I fell behind on; such as: Darker Than Black, Yakitake Japan, Eyesheild 21, Hayate no Gotoku, etc.

Well I guess I'll see you around

Long Time No See!

Hey everyone, it's been quite a while, and my posts have been few and far between. Though, I am here again finally having some time to post a new blog. Life's been alright, extra busy as usual, homework and projects, and tests to study for, the SAT to study for, it's been a bit crazy. Now it's the end of the year though!! So I haven't had as much homework, and now i'm on a 3 day weekend, yay! Wow, I'm almost a senior.. one more year of HS, and I'm off to college! geez, that's a little hard to comprehend, I hope I'm ready for it. Well I picked up a copy of Pokemon Pearl...and well... IT'S AWEOME!!! Currently I have over 90 hours clocked in that game, I completed the Sinnoh pokedex and I have 250 pokemon in my pokedex total. I've been keeping up with Death Note, Bleach, and this new anime called Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagan. Let me tell you, Tengen Toppa, is CRAZY, it's easily the best anime of this season, I recommend EVERYONE who likes anime watch it, I' dead serious. Yesterday, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It was pretty good, I enjoyed it. It was inanely long reaching nearly three hours. Was it better than the previous two movies? Ehh I dunno, about the same I would say, definitely worth seeing. Well I guess I'll see you all later, don't know when I'm afraid, hopefully soon. Bye  ~Anthony
