I've played it for a few hours, and is it the best game I've ever played? No. But it's also not the worst. Just seems like everyone else seems to think it is the worst. I'd give it...eh, an 8, 8.5 maybe, but my point is, why does everyone else hate. It has an awesome setting and feels extremely realistic partly to the amazing graphics. At points it can be frustrating, due to the constantly re-spawning camps, but for the most part it's pretty fun. The guns get muddy and wore out, jamming after a lot of use, shadows look great, vehicles look like they've been used for years...everything is so clear, crisp, and real-looking, a lot better looking than most recently released games. And the malaria just adds to how real the game feels, making surviving in Africa even more difficult. So, what are your opinions on Farcry 2, and why do you think people don't like it?
