I have the 1000 series. Personally I see no reason to go to the 2000. The only thing that was a little tempting was the video out port. Would be fun to play games and use a regular TV or monitior. I don't use Skype and granted the load time on the 1000 can be somewhat annoying on certain games. On the other hand I held a 2000 and it felt cheap. I like the weight of the 1000 and all the metal is has. I like my stuff heavy. I feel it is constructed better. I don't care if it's 20 lbs. Everybody wants light weight. To me light weight = cheap!!! If people are that weak they cannot hold half a pound or what ever the 1000 weights for a couple hours you better get to the gym and work on those biceps.
