Well it has nothing to do with being a fanboy. Your examples of Halo 2 and RE4 are just poor. It's not the pc's fault those games failed, it was the uninspired developers who thought they would make a cheap buck reselling a game to a new target audience.
RE 4 isn't anyworse then the console versions, infact it's exactly the same if you use a controller. Halo 2 doesn't look amazing, but it does indeed look better on PC then it does on 360.
PC's are more powerfull, will always be more powerfull, and there is just nothing you can say to answer that. Look at games like UT3, and Huxley when they come out. Look at Oblivion. Look at the many games that have been on pc and console, and actually ported well? Not many, but the ones that were ported well -- well -- they are all better on pc. Better control, yes -- and even if you like your controller they work on pc too. You just can't argue with the gaming potential a pc has, it truely is limitless. Not to mention we get tons of free games like Scions of Fate, 9 Dragons, Kwonho, Gunz, Americas Army, Hero Online, Legend of Ares, Knight Online -- and tons more. Also, lets not neglect the mod scene either, for cs was originally a mod that some how found its way all the way to xbox, and never would have ever been made if it wasn't for the capabilities a pc has over a console.
The only downsides are Price and Piracy. PC's are obviously more expensive then consoles, so thats a drawback for some.
Piracy is what really hurts it more then it should. Developers get so butt hurt, when all they need to do is take the MMO formula and apply it to everygame that comes out now. Then you get the 56kers or no internet people going "What about us." And for some reason devs are so understanding -- yet they will make games that require vista for absolutley no effin reason, and cut out everyone who has a lower end pc. New flash, the people who have these super flashy expensive pc's to play your games, all have broadband... and the few that don't, don't need to play your game. I believe they would lose less profit this way then releasing them like they are now a days and them getting pirated.
Oh well ya know what they say, there is no genius who has never overlooked a simple solution. *sigh*
I rest my case, anybody who disagree's is obviously just a console fanboy. (For the record, I am a proud 360 and Wii Owner.)
