@Gambler_3 - That is a sweet monitor..thanks for pointing that out, definitely will consider that when choosing the monitor. Thats second to the PC though, as im still not 100% on the whole setup. Im pretty sure ill go intel, just not set on all the components yet.

If I was going to spend an extra $100 or so..would it be worth it (If I went with the Intel build) to bump the CPU up to the i-7 870 2.93 GHz?

Such as a ATI 5870? There are options for AMD Video Cards as opposed to ATI, but ive heard alot of bad things about the AMD Graphics cards. Could be nonsense but as far as ATI cards go the only thing higher I could choose would be the 5870. Choosing a GTX would put me over my price mark, but as you said I could always lower the CPU a bit to make up for that.

@NLahren - Would but the site where im putting it together doesnt offer them anymore. They had a recall on them or something I believe (CyberPower)

Made a post a few days ago about building a PC, I think its come down to 2. An Intel build and an AMD Build..both with everything I want on them and almost identical in price. Only thing do now is to choose one of them, im having trouble with this..so I thought id go ahead and post it on here to see what you guys think.

First off, the price of the two includes rush shipping/extras that im not going to post on here. Ill just post the basics, also im sticking with the price tag..im not going to spend anymore than $1400. Maybe $1500, seeing as how if I go with the Intel im gonna want an i-7 over an i-5 CPU. Thats about the only thing id change, but anywayhere are the 2 builds..and as I said these are probably around $1000 builds. The other $300-400 comes from other things.

Intel Build

  • Raidmax Aeolus Gaming Mid-Tower Case w/ Side-Panel Window
  • Intel® Core™ i5-760 2.80 GHz 8M Intel Smart Cache LGA1156
  • CoolerMaster V6 GT CPU Cooler (Nickle Plated Double-V Heatpipe w/ Color Changing LED Cap)
  • {CrossFireX] Asus P7P55 LX Intel P55 Chipset DDR3 LGA1156 ATX Mainboard w/ 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, USB2.0, SATA-II, RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe, 2 PCIe X1, & 3 PCI
  • 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3/1600 MHz Dual Channel Memory (Kingston HyperX)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card (EVGA Powered by NVIDIA)
  • 750 Watts - Corsair CMPSU-750TX 80 Plus Power Supply - Quad SLI Ready
  • 1TB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Hard Drive)
  • Price : $1389 (U.S. Dollars)

AMD Build

  • Raidmax Aeolus Gaming Mid-Tower Case w/ Side-Panel Window
  • AMD Phenom™II X6 1100T Six-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology
  • CoolerMaster V6 GT CPU Cooler (Nickle Plated Double-V Heatpipe w/ Color Changing LED Cap)
  • ASUS M4A87TD EVO AMD 870 Chipset CrossFireX Support DDR3 Socket AM3 ATX w/ 7.1 Audio, GbLAN, IEEE1394a, USB3.0, SATA-III, RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe, 1 PCIe X1, & 3 PCI
  • 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3/1600 MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Dominator)
  • ATI Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 16X PCIe Video Card (Major Brand Powered by ATI)
  • 800 Watts - CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 80 Plus Power Supply (80+ Gold)
  • 640GB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Hard Drive)
  • Price : $1380 (U.S. Dollars)

So, some features are the same on both..but have their differences. Also there may be some compatibility issues with some of these parts, if so forgive me..im a noob at this kind of thing lol. Anyway whats the Verdict - AMD or Intel?

Looks nice, but after doing some research ive heard bad things about the AMD video cards. Not so much about the performance, just about some blackout screen issues or something like that. Anyway I think im pretty well set on the Nvidia GTX 480 or possibly the ATI Radeon 6850 to save a bit of money. I was thinking the GTX 560 Ti, but after adding a bunch of other components the price starts building up quick. If I could build the PC myself I would definitely buy only the best of parts. But, seeing as how im going to be ordering from a site which is going to build it for me..there are added costs. Rush shipping/Plus not to mention the parts are more expensive on Cyberpower than getting them directly from Newegg. I wasnt expecting this to be so difficult, deciding on the parts/extras..but I was wrong lol.

Didnt know that, I may look into that..because all the parts in total would be a couple $100 dollars cheaper from Newegg. Although im still unsure as to all of the parts im going to be getting.

Thats cool..it happens, anyway yeah I think thats the video card im gonna go with. For the processor I like the 2600k alot, it looks great..but honestly there is no option for adding that on the site im using. I guess I shouldve mentioned earlier im building it on CyberPower..not sure if thats smart or not. I know it may be cheaper to piece it together on Newegg, but I was planning on getting it all on one site and getting it built there as well. That way after im done with it, I can just get it shipped here next day..if anyone knows of a better site let me know.
