God of War: Chains of Olympus

What is better than running up a cyclops' back, stabbing it in the eye and then tearing it out? The list is very small, yet makes you question your mental and moral health.

But I'm not here to talk about morals and I already know my mental health has been blown to hell, so let's move on to what's really important - the inevitable destruction of Zeus and Kratos' quest to do so.

To be completely honest with you, Chains of Olympus is the first time I've ever played a God of War game. I had seen previews before, but this game simply blew me away. From the graphical detail, to the sheer awesomeness of ending the lives of persians from the start of The Game.

What first struck me was the amount of potential carnage that is in your possession. It didn't take long for me to max out all of the skills, much less to gain them. Even so, the main focus I think, isn't to get as many skills as possible, but to string those moves together in a seamlessly destructive force. Although beating the crap out of your enemies is all well and fun, there is still the puzzle aspect of The Game. This is a game any true platformer fan can enjoy and even newcomers to the genre.

The graphical detail doesn't quite match up to PS2 quality, but does a fantastic job of pushing the PSP to the limit, while keeping a smooth frame-rate. The camera canget really close to the action while keeping thetextures look decent.
