i'm at the final boss of this entire game, and it does this one attack that instantly KO's my teammates, i did forget to pick up a certain accessory in the final area, so am i just screwed to the point i wont beat the game (otherwise i could try to use Sentinel to try to lure the attacks to my teammate and kill him/her instead)

You don't have previous saves? Why would you use one save file?

Why would you need more than one :?

you should always atleast have 2 save files for any one game, an auto, and a manual, for good measure, so you can go back and redo things if you messed up. i like to call it the Doc Brown method

i have played slims and phatties (i own a phattie) and i love my phattie, it can do so much more, like if your an MGS$ fan, you can play all the prev MGS games and save it on a virtual memorie card, and it make the games AI in MGS4 better, plus it has extra stuff w/ psycho mantis.

theres benefits, but no new ones, if you want the extras, go w/ the phattie if you can get one, the gameplay is no dif, load time alittlebit longer (5-6 seconds, wich can be corrected by having an external raid calulator w/ 2 500GB HDD's in it, the raid calc has it's own powersourcel so the PS3 doesn't have to focus on it as much,, and it hooks to the PS3 w/ an eSATA to SATA cord, you format the drive from the PS3 and your good, "can you say terabytes? :D" i think you can also do this w/ a slim too)

on another note, i do know that some companies use 3rd party toshiba motherboards to repair PS3's and i've even heard that w/ some ingenuity one might be able to increase the ram for the cpu/gpu (the ram parts a theory) but there are options to replacing the RTC w/ non-defective ones, and these 3rd party companies sometimes warranty their work.

Was Sony using a Public Time Server?....they would not be the first....Were they asked to stop?....Did they get hacked by the individual with this Time Server?....Has happened before, not with Sony though....pigmak
THERE WAS NO HACK, some moron chip designer came to work high one day and messed up the RTC chip in the making, they've always been this way. sorry, dont mean to be rude but, i've been here for 23 hours now :p

Well I guess it can't hurt flipping the switch off on the back of the PS3. I even disconnected the PS3 power plug for extra safety measures. If the CMOS battery doesn't recieve any power than it should reset. Like I said before, we all know how annoying the PS2 was when it asked us to set the date and time, whenever we turned it off on the back for an extened period of time.

pretty sure the battery is charged to last for weeks without a power source, like most are ... thats why people have been disassembling and removing the battery, otherwise it wont die (and thus reset the clock) in a timely fashion.

if i have to take this thing appart, i'm adding a switch in the line :D who know when it'll do it again. (when a real leap year comes around and the clocks logic collides again) plus never know when else you'll need/want to do it
