I'm excited that it is set in Chicago, because I live in the Chicago suburbs. Most open world games are set in New York or big California cities, but not this, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.
I think this article has some pretty good points. I for one was tricked into thinking Homefront was going to be pretty cool, judging by the trailers and premise, but then it got lots of bad critical reviews and the sales didn't do well. (I haven't played it, but I do respect Metacritic.) I really like Bungie's, Epic's, and Rockstar's trailers, because they are accurate with the graphics presentation, but also I feel they show what the tone of the game will feel like. I really like this GTA III trailer. It has gameplay and an awesome song used in the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AvIqS_62xA&feature=player_embedded
The only game I played this year that came out in 2011 was Batman: Arkham City, which had a terrible ending which undermined the rest of the game, in my opinion. There are plenty of games that came out in 2011 that I want to play, but I don't have a job yet, so they will have to wait.
