[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"][QUOTE="virtuas"] sega, atari made several console after their first system failure, why would sony leave after doing an average job with the ps3?
you do know that sony is much bigger than sega and atari combined
ChiSoxBombers
And also much bigger than Microsoft. Just thought I would throw that out there since most people tend to believe MS is so rich it could "buy" Sony. Sony's net worth is alot more than Microsofts :P
Microsofts Net worth: $72.793 Billion
Sony's Net worth: $117.603 Billion
i am a very loyal sony supporter but a line has to be drawn here:
Microsoft's Net Worth: $230 billion
Sony's Net Worth: $72 billion
Both companies have major room for error in the form of billions of dollars. a minor dryspell in terms of sales cannot and will not signify the end of a company's console-making future. if that was the case, there would be no XBOX 360. the ps3 may be the most expensive console, but its made with the most expensive equipment, contains the finest DVD player on the market (Blu-Ray), and resides in 17 million homes across the world (only 5 million behind the 360 and with one less year of market availability).
Sony's video game department is one of their most important industries to the company, and will not be scratched because "its future doesnt look good" ---> who said its future didnt look good?? the modern-day fanboy.
sonys game division actually doesnt compare to its electronics, movie, and music business. If PS4 performs on PS3s level, expect Sony only doing handhelds. And i believe the gap is now around 6.5 million.
