Hi everyone!
I see that Amy has already put up a blog about the wedding, so I thought I would give my take getting to Malaysia and then eventually work my up to the big day.
Our first family holiday was wonderful overall. It started off a little bit scary with the Glasgow bombings and all.
My girls were so good on the long 10+ hour flight to Kuala Lumpur from Zurich. We were seated behind a family with one girl and one boy, both were probably around the ages of 4-6. They were fussy the whole flight, screaming, crying, playing with each other very loudly, I hardly blamed the other passengers for giving the parents who did nothing about their out of control childrena dirty look and rolling their eyes. I'm sure all passengers would've appreciated ear plugs that flight! But my girls... what wonders they were. Claire sat quietly, watching a little TV, colouring in her drawings and then she slept on my lap for a couple of hours. The only time she became a nuisance when she insisted I accompany her to the toilets. Ella cried only once, and then nodded off to sleep.
When we arrived in Kuala Lumpur, we waited for our next flight to Kota Kinabalu (or final destination). At this point the girls were getting a bit cranky and tired, so was Adrian and I. But we survived without harming each other.
Our first day was spent by the pool, I took Ella and Claire into the pool, both wearing floaties for protection. They both enjoyed that, Claire was constantly making Adrian and I take her back into the pool. Amy and I decided to take Claire to the beach one afternoon, which was directly by the pool. Claire was just fine walking around the shallow part of the water while we closely observed. Then Claire came running out the water screaming her little head of. We were quick to discover she had been stung by a jellyfish. Luckily the lifeguard knew what to do in these situations, so Claire was alright in the end.
Thats all for now. Will try to blog againsoon.
Love Libby,
xox.
