About Me

Name: Velid

Surename: Agović

Date of birth: 15.06.1989.

. . .

My first gaming experiences are so far in past, that i can barelly remember them.

One of my first gaming devices was this handheld

mickeymouse

While not exact as one pictured (i really cant remember model name),i remember finding it somewhere and turning it on for first time.

I was so happy collecting eggs, and i was really sad when my batteries died.

 . . .

Being that my family wasnt really wealthy,i did not have money to buy GameBoy (in that time, gameboy was "IN"),only handheld i played @ that time was Brick 9999 (and variations of it) i got from my cousins

Pictured is some random model of Brick Game 9999,and i had different variations of similar handheld.

I remember that once i was told by some guy, that if you reach 9999 in some game where you shoot incoming "dots" you will unlock Super Mario Brothers game

Oh god how happy and naive i was! I tried so hard to unlock that awesome game,i played all day and night! And one day i actualy reached 9999 (or whatever maximum score was) and what happened? nothing, counter just started right from 0

I was dissapointed and sad

. . .

From time to time,my cousins would come to visit my parents and parents of their parents. Once, they came to our house with brand new Nintendo Entertainment System (i do not know if it was genuine one or not),all i remember was that we played game called  "Duck Hunt"

I was having great fun shooting and watching other shoot those cute ducks, and it was hillarious how dog was laughing @ our missed shots

I also remember meeting legend of gaming... Super Mario

My parents loved me very much, but between them, some conflicts emerged. God know how that happened, but they started arguing, and from time to time,me my brother and sister and out mum would leave house and go to my friends house until things "settle down"

There i met some kids that also had NES.

I remember that i barely had chance to play (afterall,i was just guest there,so i couldnt do whatever i want),but i enjoyed watching them play games like

Tetris (some "advanced" version with different images behind for each level if i remember correctly)

And some Motorbikes,i really dont remember name, all i know is that i allways wondered how comes that when i come to first place,i still have bikes in front of me (i was probably being faster than last man,but im not sure if that was the case, cause i never played that game again)

Times went by,and i was able to play some Gameboy games like Ninja Turtles, but i didnt own Nintendo GameBoy

From time to time,i would go and watch TV at my grandma's appartment (she had nice tv with satelite) and i watched different shows and programs like Super RTL,RaiUNO,etc. (mostly foreign)

I even learned a bit of Italian, but just a bit (counting and some simple sentences)

I remember watching Hugo and some Nintendo 64 commercials for Super Mario 64!

I thought that graphics were phenomenal!

Time went by,and i mostly didnt play lot games until i came to Sarajevo, after my parents divorced.

My grandfather (father of my mother) called us to live with him,and that is first time i came to big town to live (before that i lived in house in small town by the sea)

 In Sarajevo,everything was different.

In my old town (Bar) everything was mostly sunny (with some ugly storms here and there),but being that its town by sea,sun was almost allways there (i saw snow only once or twice while i was living there)

But here in Sarajevo, climate is mostly cold because of hills, and there is plenty of snow

I used elevator to get to our appartment, and i was fascinated how it worked - yet,i was a bit scared.

Here,i didnt have anything to play, and my parents refused to buy me BRICK GAME 9999 (i didnt have mine with me)

Our financial situation was really bad,and add to that war torn country,we really didnt have much time for entertainment.

But,from time to time,we would give a visit to one lady and her mum peace be upon her (friends of my mum)

That older lady (mum of my mums friend lol :P) had Nintendo Entertainment System and she really enjoyed playing games on it

You wont find kind old lady like she everyday

She even let me and my brother and sister play it as musch as we would like!

I was so sad when we had to go home,if it was up to me,i would stay there all day

There is also one other friend of my mum (both these ladies (and some other family members/friends) helped us a lot in hard times, and i will never be able to thank them enough ) who had 2 kids, one of my age and other younger.

I remember when their father (really nice gentleman if i might add) came and picked us up and said that he will take us to his kids so we can play together some "computer games"

In reality, that computer was Sega if i remember correctly (i might be wrong) and i remember that we played some games but i cant remember which ones.

It was great time

Later, same people will buy PSX and i was so excited every time i watched/played Tekken 3 or Army Man ...

to be continued
