@csward: I think 2014 was just kind of crappy year for games at least in terms of mainstream games. There no game that truly stood out as a masterpiece that also sold very well. Most of the best games that year were pretty niche. My personal was Bayonetta 2, which actually scored a 10 on here, but didn't have the mainstream success to justify an award like Game of the Year on a major gaming publication. Shadow of Mordor on the other hand sold pretty well and also had some innovative mechanics due to its nemesis system, but overall there was no games that really blew people away that year so there pretty much any goty nominee was destined to be pretty shaky.
@Zicoroen: Probably not. Microsoft will probably will want devs to optimize games to fully take advanatage of their static set of hardware, as that is one of the major advantages of developing for a console.
@Gravity_Slave: Normal isn't necessarily the way the game was intended to be played, its just what the devs think the average person would want in terms of difficulty. Also the things you say about harder difficulties is only really true in some games. Many games have really good harder difficulty modes and are pretty designed with replay value in mind.
Well I guess the ship hasn't sailed for the angry birds brand. I was expecting the movie to bomb given that there seems to be little interest in new angry birds games in the past few years.
