I was wondering, are there any worthwhile multiplayer games now days? (Or last 5 years)

I mean the two players on one pc kind of multiplayer - If for example I got to my friend's house, and we wanna actualy play together and not have one of us just watch and get bored...

That last game I can think off that realy owned that field was Heroes 3. Anyway, you guys got such recommendations? All genres, it can be even mini games, or a serious strategy game, anything.
