So the PS3 is outselling the 360 monthly by a pretty healthy margin, in September PS3 outsold it by 140 thousand consoles and in October it outsold it by 80,000 consoles. If the 360 still comes in 3rd place in November after the "huge" and largely hyped MW2 and the MW2 "Exclusive" console 360 bundle. If the 360 stays in 3rd place for Nov and espcially December than i see the 360 having a tough tough road ahead..
now yes i know MS is sitting back and counting millions from all the Xbox live gold members giving them money every month and the attach rates do remain a little bit better on the 360 (although that lead is shrinking also) but the bigger picture is if 360 stays in 3rd place for much longer than it will then have the stigma of being a "3rd place console" and thats not a great stigma to have.. I honestly dont see any huge system sellers for the 360 atleast until Natal comes out.

Yep it was probably judged by a lower standard against other downloadable games. Read the review, the reviewer even complains about the game not looking as good as Galaxy. :?
I think they're sending a message that says something like: "Don't make games like this anymore unless they're downloadable or we won't give it a 'superb' score no matter what.". Gamespot and just about every other gamesite is in the business of pushing graphics and technology these days it's pretty obvious. Them handing out AAAs to short shooters like MW2 and ODST pretty much signifies that.
I think it's solely because Nintendo doesn't play as dirty. Less hype, they don't blow up the expectations and empty promises as much, less deals with reviewers, less media attention. That's the feeling i get. That they just want people to buy the game cause of what it is and not because of some tricks. Could be wrong though. Right. If you want to make your game successful, you can't advertise it at all. The more hyped a game, the less fun it is. Those deals with reviewers make a game less fun. I mean, come on. There aren't hundreds of thousands of people playing MW2's multiplayer. No one thinks it's fun

I disagree, this gen we've had both great, and mediocre sequels. I'd say this is neither, it's a rehash.
Gears 2 was a mediocre sequel. Uncharted was a great sequel, MW2 is a rehash imo.
I'd claim that ODST has more new content then MW2.
ODST modified two weapons, took away the shields and added firefight. Let's say that the things you listed were the only changes. ODST would have the same amount of differences, if not less.
I read some of the reviews on the game for all platforms and I must facepalm.
It's pure nerd rage over the game. Simply because it is popular. Half the people rating it poorly haven't even bought the game.

One need not play the game on this occasion to knock the insidious nature of the game due to lack of dedicated servers, alpha phase online functionality, short campaign, lack of team balancing and price gauging. I understand that these are problems, but does the game still deserve a 1.0? Honestly, it's not bad! I know I'm coming from a console perspective but the SP is enjoyable, even with the shortness of the campaign, and the MP brings new gametypes and is just fun to play. Next time, play the game before bashing it.
