I just re-watched the anime movie 5 cm Per Second, which is a beautiful work of fiction, at least if you ask me. It's, in very short terms, a movie about growing up and letting go of the past, and the sadness which may follow from not being able to do so. I don't know about you, but for me this is an important thing to have in mind. The reason is that I'm a particularly nostalgic person, and, well, I often wish things haven't changed, no matter how good they actually are now. Heck, I even get that feeling when watching longer anime series, or at the end of one; I just miss the way things were before, if you know. Of course, there is the matter of re-watching, but it's just a temporary escape. Anyway, this closeness I have with the theme of the movie; this identifying with the main character is what has made this movie something very special for me; not as an anime or movie fan, but as a human. As a treat for you, the movie's ending song; One more time, One more chance (is an actual music video and doesn't contain clips from the movie)
