[QUOTE="Logic_101"]It all depends, it has sold well but not as good as the competition. So why would a developer solely focus on it, when they could make more money elsewhere.Tnasty11

Just combine what I said earlier with what Riviera just said and you should have your answer.

[QUOTE="AntiType"]What exaclty do you guys call a revolution? Tell me... if MS and Sony incorperate the mechanics of the wii mote to their next gen (or current via addon) Did Nintendo not make a new standard? What wil your little gamer children see when they take history lesson. They will see that games were controled by digital pads and anolog sticks at one point. Then the Wii came and after then.. controls were never the same... yup that was a revolution. I will go so far to say that there will be even a speaker in Sony's iand MS's next controller.Brown52

I do not call the Wii a revolution. You can say the wiimote is innovative if you want. But it has done nothing to revolutionize gaming.

neither has the 360 or ps3

They have made more advancements than the wii.

What advancements have they made to GAMING?

They have both made significant advancements in graphics, in physics, in effects such as lighting, in AI.

Oh, and they have this thing called online gaming. It exponentially increases the longevity of your game and you can play with people all over the world.

I'll have to laugh a little at your response. How can you seriously credit SONY and MICROSOFT for those things. All they did was hire various chip makers to dump things within their console. The same could be found on highend computers. Advancing gaming isn't about making it prettier. It's about being able to do something on a game that was not able to be done a generation or two ago which makes the experience feel fresh. Fifty people on an online game session is nice and all, but it isn't new it's just expanding what was already there.

I'm not. I'm saying they have done more the Nintendo has. And you couldn't do the same graphics/physics/Ai/effects of this gen on a last gen console. (IE. the wii)

I'm sorry I thought I was talking about gaming on a whole not just consoles. Your latest statements lead me to believe that your only thinking about consoles. I already stated that highend computers can do in gaming what PS3 and the 360 can, so what advancements have they made to GAMING again?

If you read the quote chain, you will see that we are specifically talking about 360/wii/ps3. (2nd-3rd post)

After you read that, read some of the the other quotes in this chain about how I am saying the 360 and ps3 have done more for gaming than the Wii, and that the Wii has not delivered on any of the promised revolutions.

And if you are going to quote someone in the future, you should read the quotes first.

Then I think it's fair to say you should follow your own advice. If you look at exactly where I entered and my intial comment, I asked you what adavancements have THEY made to gaming. I am well aware of the thread, but I'm even more aware of MY question. A question you still haven't answered.

Who are you? We're talking people that people actually know, not just some random dude like you.

Don't you think your being a bit rude. At some point you were some random dude and regardless of that fact I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have liked some elitist bustin your balls.

One game can't be more or less competitive then the other. It's solely based on the PEOPLE playing the game, hence why the world championship of rock, paper, scissors and other rather ridiculous tournaments exist. But for the sake of this thread I'd go with Halo.

[QUOTE="Logic_101"]This is all being based off of an E3 where you can make the argument that all of the companies really didn't show off alot of what they're working on. To say that after this E3 shows how Microsoft and Sony are future proof is a bit presumptious. Do you really think Sony can continue on their 10yr plan at this current rate. They are already losing tons of money, and even more important market share. Microsoft's only problem I can see, is that based on sales really didn't take advantage of the year head start. Which unfortunate for them reflects on their slim lead in market share. Nintendo did a pretty shoddy job in the game department this E3 but they were focusing the meeting toward the general public, which is where the money is. To base how innovative they are or aren't on three days is a bit ridiculous. chimpiki
Sony's ten year plan was ridiculous to begin with, and I don't think anybody bought it. And it's true, to start off they're losing tons of money and a lot of market share. As far as sales are going right now, though, I don't think the Wii, launching at a price lower than the PS2 seven years ago, is doing anywhere near as well as the aforementioned console. And I see where you're coming from about basing all this on three days, but the announcements made about the Rock Band peripheral and the Wii fit are both new, and we can see that in general, people are more excited for Rock Band.

I would agree with you in regards to more people are more excited about Rock Band, but for the most part on gaming sites. If you look at news sites such as USA Today and plenty of other sites like that, they are declaring WiiFit the most have peripheral. So on gaming sites Rock Band may have the edge, but to the general consumer which we can make the argument that Nintendo was focusing on this E3 they want the Nintendo product. Also judging by sales there seems to be more general consumers buying gaming products then even the hardcore.
