Well, some more updates lol...

I got an american mate who offered me to purchase from newegg, ship to him and he's ship them to me. So the choices kind of open up, and newegg is easily going to take over amazon in my case.

The GTX 260s give about 5 choices from newegg, and that's the one that seems to have caught my attention the most. Both EVGA cards are outta stock/unavailable. That's about the one that remains and also what really caught my eye. Doesn't have any reviews, so I'm guessing it was added just recently.

I'm still pretty ready to go for it, you guys spot any issues with it, or found any better alternatives? Would appreciate suggestions :)

Eghh the cards are unavailable now. What's available for GTX 260 is now here.

What got me interested was this BFG card which seems to be at a good price, not cheap, and as someone earlier mentioned, BFG are quite renowned and accepted.

Ideas? :)

I can't give you a "yes" or "no" reply myself, but you should keep in mind that the power supply's overall wattage should exceed (by a 10 or 15% mark) the overall requirement of your rig. So if you'll be requiring a total of 500W (as a random example), get a 550W psu. Never let your components perform at near 100% since that's generally not gonna help you much (thus why manufacturers lower the frequency from the maximum of the components they sell, and oclocking generally voids the warranty).

Sorry for the earlier post which was a perfect copy of what I did before. Thanks for the replies, but now I'm quite confused :( My mate told me the XFX provided no real details as well as it had no user reviews, which did put me off quite a bit; so it wasn't a safe bet going for it. But instead I'd really like the opinion of most. Rather than giving off two cards, can you please suggest the card I should buy? I'm really going for something on the level of a GTX 260. My mobo is going to be an Asus p45, and I'm willing to spend up to or around 200 Euros on the GFX card.

What are the best options here, and if it is a GTX 260 (Which I'd personally prefer), which specific one should I buy (aka a link to it's page from amazon or something similar)

Thanks :)

I'm trying to hit something from amazon since they're clearly cheaper and less confusing. Seeing 896mb on the box from that local retailer really put me off from buying anything off of them.

Kinda stuck between this and this other one

No experience with the manufacturers so could use some help here.

If you got even better suggestions on a GTX 260 card please share. As a quick info, I can't use newegg nor overclockers so... amazon is really my only bet.

Thanks for the reply, and good job spotting the 896 thingy. I'll prob be considering getting it from amazon, since I believe it's just gonna be more expensive =/ Will give it a quick check just to check out what's worth it and what ain't

I'm really interested in buying the following GTX 260 graphic card from a local retailer: http://www.scanmalta.com/eshop/1792mb-gainward-gtx260-pci-express-vga-2-years-warranty.html

But to be honest I'm really confused... It says 1792mb, and GTX 260 is meant to be 869mb (or is it 896?) ... so I'm wondering if it's dual graphic cards, or if it's just some weird memory extension...

My question is: What are the differences between the one I'm seeing, and the one I was expecting (1792mb and 869mb respectively)...

Thankuuu.

It's kinda late, I'm sick, and I just swiftly skimmed through your post so maybe I read wrong... but to quickly answer your question... GFX Card and RAM memories are shared... so 2.5gig RAM is being detected while the remaining is being taken in by your GFX card. There are definitely exceptions to this, but if you really wanna fix your issue, the solution is all very simple:

64 bit Operating System. Win xp 64 (Don't really suggest it) or Win 7 64 bit is your real options. Vista? Haha. Period. No, bad boy... don't think of vista. I'd suggest you a Win 7 64 bit OS. This should detect all of your RAM and GFX Card memories and fully utilize them as is necessary.

Good luck. :)
