This is the last time I ever visit Gamespot, the whole pro-Microsoft/anti-Sony slant was bad enough but now that Chains of Olympus has received an 8.5 I have absolutely no use in reading the lowsy reviews. As if the reviews for Silent Hill 2, Metal Gear Solid, and Shenmue weren't bad enough. Don't suspend my account, delete it.

Well, I finally got around to trying out my Dreamcast that's been siting in my room for about 6 months and I'm blown away. I can't beleive that I missed out on this system until now, and there are still many games I have left to get for it. Even my PS3 can't pry me away from it, anybody out there who doesn't have one should follow my advice and try it out. Dreamcast FTW!

With Loco Roco, Every Extend Extra, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops coming for the PSP and the price drop I have been considering picking one up for a while. Today while at the local collectibles store lo and behold Benger tells me of a second hand PSP with accessories, Liberty City Stories, Wipeout Pure, Dark Mirror, Fireteam Bravo, and a couple other games, and a 1 gig memory card for $200. Now it looks like I'll get a PSP and a new video card out of my next pay cheque.

Well, I've made my decision about which next generation console(s) to get. I'm getting the PS3 in 2007 with the release of Metal Gear Solid 4. I am definitely not getting an Xbox 360 because I'm getting a mid-range gaming PC instead. Finally I may get a Wii, if and only if it retains some good third party support. Price is of no matter, why settle for less to save a couple hundred dollars, especially since a console has a life span of over half a decade.

As if Steam wasn't a big enough problem before now I can't install any third party mods. The reason? Every mod is supposed to be installed under [root]:   Program Files   ValveSteam   SteamApps   [your user name]   Half-Life   [mod folder name] right? The problem is that there is no user name folder in SteamApps, in fact, there are no other folders at all under SteamApps. Can anybody give my any help on this because I've had several problems with Steam before and I just can't put up with hours of googling for the solution yet again. If not I'm just going to cancel my account, my second favorite series ever and Steam is ruining it.

As if an N64 and the possibility of a Saturn wasn't enough, a friend of mine offered me a Dreamcast for free and a Gameboy Advance for $30. I'll have plenty to keep me busy over the summer.

Just posted reviews for Missile Command for the Atari 2600, and Mega Man 2, tell me what you all think. I almost forgot, I'm getting Perfect Dark tomorrow, woo hoo!

I managed to buy enough crap at a local collectibles store for the owner to give me a used N64, two controllers, and a memory card for free so I picked up Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, and Mario 64. I must be a nerd to spend enough money / time at a collectibles store to be getting free stuff. Anyway, all I need now is Conker's Bad Fur Day, Paper Mario, Perfect Dark, and Banjo Kazooie and I'll have everything I need for it. As if that wasn't enough good news, a friend has offered to sell me his Sega Saturn for cheap. I've always been a Sega fan but I never bothered with the Saturn because I was into PC gaming when it came out so this is a good opportunity to get one.
