Okay, these reviews will probably come to no use to anyone because I basically have spent off and on time playing games that have been out, replaced, and even Game of the Year editions may have come out.
Now to start with, the reason I have been gone is simple, trying to find a better job, creating networks, getting used to the new state, wondering why I made a MySpace, and playing video games on the clearance rack.
So to avoid writing lengthy and pointless reviews on these games, I will just give as short as possible details on them. The list include:
Iron Man, Army of Two, Ninja Gaiden II, BattleField II, and the only one not XBOX-360; House of the Dead II & III for Wii. Along with supplements of Perfect Shot and the Zapper.
IRON MAN: 5.5
I bought Iron Man, yes, laugh it up. I thought maybe it was like Spider-Man with a jet pack and missiles. Turns out it's like Judge Dredd (SNES) turned into a 3D sh!tasm. The game is a level based game where you earn credits for completing missions and side missions. The Tutorial in the game is long and uneeded, as if the game is complicated, that follows into an assortment of levels that have no degree of difficulty. Some are really easy, some are incredibly hard. Now the reason it is hard is because it's like playing Galaga. No matter how good you are, the amount of aliens and lasers that come down allow no escape. The controls are simple and really all you need to do is learn how to strafe, lock on, and shoot all at once and you can beat the game. The game's good parts were the HUD. It was a cool idea to be inside the suit of Iron Man and controlling the aspects of the suit, but they are very stunted and become more so annoying. Don't buy, don't rent.
Army of Two: 8.0
I rented Army of Two. I beat it with ease on Medium, and beat it the next day on Hard to aquire all the weapons. I played it on Medium with my older brother, who was believe it or not, worst than the AI. So playing on Hard was actually a walk in the park. The Gamespot's review on AoT was very good. The AI is limited and dumb, however the aggro effect on the shooter could charm the worst of the WoW-Douches. I very much enjoyed 85% of the game. The good is simple, it's a fiesty shooter that brings back many Gears of War effects, graphics are great, the guns are great, upgrades are great, and pimping out a weapon is actually cool and not MTV aka LAME. The bad? You cannot sprint, the AI will drag you through gun fire and to the enemy (But hey, it's the only game that has an AI that can do that for you - it's a start?) The enemy AI is actually really effing smart aside from being blind when Aggro is in full effect. They will flank you, come behind you, and eff you up. They also are excellent shots. They can head shot you with a shotgun from across the field. The aggrivation effect is high, but nothing compared to Halo's effects.
Ninja Gaiden II: 7.8
I rented this one. It was a good play for the 48 hours I kept it. The good? Every swing with your weapon can bludgeon or lop off a limb. If they lose a set of limbs you can finish them with a gorey decapitation sequence. The game is smooth and the graphics are pretty good. The bad? It's still ninja gaiden. They don't put much into account for gameplay and how game's have evolved into something less linear. It's very linear and plays like Devil May Cry I and II. Basically like Ninja Gaiden. The music is annoying as ever. Camera as always: needs work.
Battlefield II: 8.0
I bought this and have played it for the first two days I had it. I have not played it since. The game is the best and worst of the series. Worst? Because the weapons are so unrealistic. I am not sure if I am just horrible at the game (Even though I finish in the top 4 of the entire game (top two in team)(Usually top in squad)) but my stock assault rifles require nearly the entire magazine to take down a fool, even with head shots. You cannot go prone either, so snipers look like complete retards. I use the m48 sniper rifle mainly and the sniper rifle has improved greatly. The gravity effects require good sniping calculations. Motion sensors are pretty sweet too. The gameplay is very limited and get's boring quickly. The best part? The shotgun acts like a shotgun and the fact you can blast down walls. I would suggest people to rent and wait for it to go down to 25 bucks used.
House of the Dead I & II: 8.5
What 's not to like? You and your buddy can whack zombies all night long and it costs you nothing. House of the Dead is a great series of games, where each one allows more limb lopping than the last. The game doesn't really get boring either. I find myself holding my perfect shot in bed and shooting at the TV at who I wanna destroy on the tele. So I put in House of the Dead and go at it for a bit. It's worth the 30 bucks new, the Zapper comes with a game, and the perfect shot, 5 bucks cheaper can be used with other games. House of the dead has nothing bad about it, except for me. I have yet to play with anyone good at these games so I usually ask them to gtfo so I can beat it by myself.
Wii Zapper: 9.3
The zapper holds like no other gun. This is not a compliment. The good part? Well for those who like the linear effect of the sub-machine gun like hold will enjoy it. It also comes with a game that could have easily been sold for 20-30 bucks. Link's Crossbow training is great fun, especially if you're 21+ and have some drinks (yes I am responsible). The zapper is good, but I simply don't like it to the perfect shot. Why a high score? Because, it does it's job near perfectly.
Wii Perfect Shot: 10.0
Like in the name, it's perfect. It has a great hold to it and plays great. It's 5 bucks cheaper than the other gun. I love the Wii, I remember when guns cost 30-50 bucks. The Wii makes the controller into a gun, simply great. I also have played with Red Steal with the gun and the gun detatches very fast (Unlike the Zapper which is a hassle) so you can switch to sword mode quickly. If you got gun games both Arcade and FPS, get this, it's awesome.
