Wow, it's been one a year since I last updated my blog. Mind you, I have critically neglected Gamespot for the past few months. So... errr... time to get up to speed I guess!

Consoles

It was my 18th Bday about a week ago, and I got me some pretty awesome gear. Got myself a brand new PC that's really powerful- I haven't fully had a chance to use its potential yet though- by that I mean I haven't pulled myself away from my awesome laptop I had about Christmas. The other notable gift was a Playstation 3! I can safely say I love it more than I thought I would; sorry Xbox, you have competition for my time now. I got the original Motorstorm and Uncharted 2 with it, the latter of those two has to be one of the most incredible thing I've played on this generation of consoles. I also picked up Crysis 2 to see what all the fuss was about, but, can someone enlighten me? What WAS all the fuss about? It's just as grey and dull of a shooter as any of the other ones -_- The first seems like it's million times better (I wonder if my new machine would run it? *ponders*). Oh, and I might be picking up Modnation Racers and LittleBigPlanet 2 some time down the line too. Games that create games? Yesplz.

Canines

I'm finally making good progress in 3D animation. I finished my first ever video just today. It's based on something for kids so it probably won't interest you, but you can have a link to it anyway. :) I've really gained a strong liking for Blender. I actually picked up a trial of Autodesk's Maya and 3DS Max, but the things that put me off are the clunky controls, and the fact that they don't auto-fix faces with too many verts like Blender. I think I know what I will stick with for a while. :D

Contests

Going nicely with what I just mentioned; I shall be continuing 3D work. Now I've decided to go straight in and animate The Vesta Chronicle, now that I'm confident about how to accomplish that goal. Also, I used this golden oppotunity to go through The Reign of Guardians world of Deorasca and and resculpt some bits and even add some shiny new stuff. Characters that seemed pointless will be finally interesting, yes Fusha, I'm looking at you... mainly. Among other things too. Now as part of rebuilding the world to make it even more amazing, I'm letting other people get involved. Ive only handed out offers to join Ice Dragon Entertainment to few select individuals though. So last night I put up a contest for people to contribute. My DevaintArt page has all the juicy bits for you. If it proves popular, I may increase the number of people who will win. Tell your friends!

Anyhow, that's all I got for this quick drop by. I hope to speak to all you guys again some time, you're not forgotten, I promise :)

Reign of Guardians/The Vesta Chronicle 2009 - 2010

Ep.Two teaser:

Old acquaintances... (Part one of three)

*Darkness- the only feature of this derelict temple. Nothing was visible but the colour-washed floor, and the broken shards of cyrstals that crunched under the red dragons feet. Relying purely on blind navigation was his only option. Luckily, his roaming had him stumble upon a a daint blue gloom; a silhouetted structure lay upon this.

His presence was immediate- the room came to life. Weathered blue crystal's lined the walls, and created a gloomy uplight in his portion of the cavern. The roof still remained a dark abyss; the silhouetted structure still just that. The dragon was about to pronounce his presence, before a deep, hellish voice interrupted.*

Voice: Disappointing, dragon! You're a little late. Mind you, you have never been the best at first impressions have you...... Reuben?

Reuben: Considering that I can't fly, and the fact that this place is like a maze- I think I have reason. Wait!! How do you know me?!

Voice: Let's just say: you and I go back quite a while.

Reuben: Sorry sir, you must be mistaken, I don't even know who you are!

Voice: How ironic, you have forgotten! *Demonic chuckle* Although, my name is irrelevant in this situation.

Reuben: Then what am I supposed to call you?

*A blackened figure turns around, but the only things visible are the glinting reflections of the lights in the creatures eyes, and the glowing green medallion around it's neck*

Voice: I think you should call me the Revanche!

Reuben: *Slightly uncomfortable* You wanted me? ... Revanche sir?

Revanche: Indeed, you have something very valuable to me, don't you?

Reuben: I don't think so, I barely have any possessions at all!

Revanche: Oh? *He strolls very quickly into towards him, but still remained in the shadows* Then why are you carrying those you do have with you?

Reuben: *Fear beginning to set in* I don't understand.... s-sir!

Revanche: You will very soon dragon!

*The medallion on his chest began to glow, which highlighted a small area around it, including the partially uncovering that the creatures chestplate was a greyish-blue colour. He notices the fear he is giving Reuben*

Revanche: Hmm, you seem... uncomfortable, is there a problem?

Reuben: *Almost trembling* Well, if I am perfectly honest: I'm just a little uneasy about being over-shadowed by some big dark thing I can't even see!

Revanche: Here, let me help you. *His dark blue claw enters the glow, and it grips the casing of the medallion* Honesty hmm? I should try that one day! Infact, lets make that today; Reuben- I called you here to knock you out and steal something off you... huh, that wasn't so hard!

*Reuben lerched back with shock, but before he could say anything, Revanche twisted the casing on his charm; this made it glow a red-ish colour. Reuben suddenly roared in agony, and fainted at the creatures feet*

...This is a mini-series that provides a different perspective in the RoG:LT story. Parts 2 and 3 will not be released until A Frozen Legacy is (Ep.two)

The Electronic Entertainment Expo is finally here; and it is already bringing the vision of perfect gaming to a more reasonable reality!

Just one day has passed, and as an avid gamer, I have already been blown away by the material brought to light. Some personal highlights to mention are such titles as Halo:ODST, Halo Reach, Crackdown 2, Forza Motorsport3;basically all new versions of all the games Ido and did love!

Forza 3 was the biggest hit for me so far. What they have done between this and FM2 back in 2007 is truly remarkable, it's like a completely referbished game. The graphics are indescribebly beautiful, it could be argued that they could rival SHIFT, or that Sony racing giant Gran Turismo. With insane amount ot detail in the car interiors, as well as the mountianoues rivieras under the golden sun. Turn 10 have truly engaged their enthusiats, and FM3 is no-longer the full-on hardcore simulator number 1 or 2 was. Incorperations of video editing, Infinite painting customisation (yes, I did say infinite!!!), a true 'free run' mode, which allows you to go online and do whatever; dirft, muck-about, crash. It's astounding to think it will feature in excess of 400 liscened vehicles; and over 70 gorgeuos tracks to blast/crash/powerslide them around!!! This is by far my favourite game to come within the next year!!!!

I'm sure we've all had an urge to create something inspirational, and lately i have had to an urge to imagine an another ending for Dawn of the Dragon, something with a bit more emotion say. Now im not the best writer, and at times it might seem like im directing the cutscene, but here i go.......*ahem*.......

(after the big Purple beam fight thing)

... Malefor hits the ground with collosal force, shattering the fragile earth beneath him. Seconds pass before he becomes visible through the settling dust, and only a few last breaths are revealed. The young dragons fly towards the ground and look at their fallen nemises with truimph; but with the shaking quickly becoming violent, they traverse to a large Purple Gem, where they wish to spend their apparent last few moments of life.

A shaken Cynder turns to Spyro, "I'm sorry, I am so sorry", then proceeds to drop her head in sorrow. Spyro tries to comfort her, "Don't worry, it's over now". They both fall silent for a short period, before Spyro re-opens his eyes and asures her, "I think i know what to do". Cynder raises her head again, but she looks at him with doubt and replies "No, you don't have to do anything, lets just go". Spyro snapped back "Go where?! The worlds breaking apart!". He dropped his tone when he saw the fear in Cynders eyes, "but, i think i can stop it". Cynder nods to him in response, "Then i'm with you". Spyro starts to glow with the ancestors magic he absorbs from the gem he rests on, Cynder lies down and curls herself up under her wings, before a blinding flash of energy lights the cavern.

Spyro's energy overcomes the force of Malefors magic, and the world becomes whole again, and all signs of the dark masters evil is extinguished. All the citizens emerge from their shelters into a new world, a clean refreshed world. The Guardians emerge from the cave to be greeted by a glorious sunset, Cyril turns to Terrador and Volteer commenting "I knew we were going to be fine", but his smug remark is soon ignored. Sparx zips out and joyfully says "Hooray, i'm not dead!" he pauses his celebration as he mutters "Spyro!" under his breath, in which he quickly dissappears into the distance. Volteer ad Terrador glance at each other and follow in suit, meanwhile Cyril tuts and rolls his eyes before proceeding.

"Cynder? Everything is fine now, it is safe" comforts a heroic Spyro, which is followed by Cynder slowly unfolding her wings while she peers under them, she stands up and looks at the dark ruins of Malefors Lair. The peace is acompanied with a gentle breeze that is whistling through the crumbling holes in the wall. After She explored her surroundings speechlessly, she smiles at Spyro with a "Thank you!", followed by her resting her head upon his. Spyro's comforting voice told her "We should head home", with her aknowledged with a simple, "Sure".

Both dragons head for the door, and they proceed passed the crater earlier formed by their previous encounter; however, Cynder glimpses into it only to find Malefor laying there, but she notices that his skin tone pulses black. A slightly worried Cynder states, "Something doesn't seem right.", but Spyro's still comforting voice replied with "Its finished now, there's is no need to worry anymore". This time, Cynder is not as easily overcome, "No I really have a bad....", a large dark tail emerges from the crater, and hits her with tremendous force.

Spyro turns around to find Cynders unconcieous body laying in a settling dust cloud the other side of the Lair, in which he yells "Cynder!", closely followed by Dark Malefor climbing out of his crater and blocking his sight of her. Malefors Earth trembling voice breaks out "You thought YOU could defeat me, you may have saved this ungreatful world for now, but you shall not get in my path next time, i WILL assure you that!" He comes moments to obliterating Spyro with a devestating attack, when a small, fragile voice interupts him, "Leave him alone!". Malefor turns around curiosly, while at the same time using is tail to pin Spyro against the wall. Cynders heroics were soon replaced by outright fear, Malefor moved his head closer to hers, "Does Cynder want to play aswell?" he chuckles,"and what makes you think you could do any better", he begins to toy with her fear, "oh, i think you would make quite sufficient practice!". Spyro looks on helplessy as Malefor backs up and raises his wings. He starts to stand up on his hind legs, and his eyes begin to glow purple, meanwhile his tail raises and loses grip of Spyro. Cynder limps backward painfully, and becomes frozen with fear. She eventually regains motion and sheilds her face with her wing, but Malefor launches his attack and a large energy beam ignites from Malefors mouth.

The attack had missed Cynder and left a large smoldering hole in the wall, that potruted through several layers of stone and rock. Cynder unsheilds herself and peers over at the destruction, but Malefor draws her attention back "Now i'm finished warming up, lets start practice", he smirks as he repeats what he had done previously. Cynder loses all hope, she calmly closes her eyes and drops her head. She hears the noise of his attack approach, and she braces for what is to come. Yet again the attack is launched.

Shortly, Cynder hears a roar of pain and looks up, to find Spyro struggling to absorb Dark Malefors Blast, she yelps "Spyro! No!". Spyro unleashes all of the energy he has, and forces Malefors attack to backfire, his body is vapourised into a purple mist. Spyro drops to the ground to the ground and lays motionless. Cynder softly says "Spyro?", she waits a small while before she painstakingly climbs to her feet and repeats "Spyro? Are you ok?". She looks around helplessly, before looking at the lifeless Spyro as the loneliness dawns on her. She stares at him with no emotion or character, however, her emotions catch up, she drops onto his body, with her head resting on his shoulder, and she explodes into tears.

Before long, Sparx bursts though the door, "Hows my favourite best buddy doing?", but he captures a glimpse at the two Dragons and his smile drops, followed by, "He's just playing, just playing, yeah, i know him, he's jus playing....". He flies cautiously over, and after fully understanding the circumstances, he flies up to Cynder and Grabs her attention, "You said you'd promise, now look...". Sparx's anger is blown away by the approach of Terrador and Volteer. Terrador snaps at Sparx "behave!", and continues to glare at the lifless Spyro, "He was a truly inspirational warrior". Cyril doesn't help the situation "He had it coming eventually". Volteer responds intelligently "Cyril, Why don't you take Cynder and Sparx back to the lair?", which is replied with, "If you insist!" He slowly coaxes Cynder away from Spyro, and they leave Malefors Lair, closely followed by an uncomfortable Sparx.

Cynder catches a glimpse of a purlpe glow, emitted from Malefors lair when it dissappears from veiw over a mountain, this her final sign of the close companion she had lost.

(Screen fades, Credits roll, Not over YET ^_^)

"Cynder, wakey, wakey!", Cynder is woken up by an unusually happy Sparx tuggin her wing. She tiredly responds "What is it?". Sparx: "You feeling ok? huh?", Cynder: "Yes i'm fine, well, not entirely", Sparx:, "follow me i know what will cheer you up!". The recovered Cynder follows Sparx to a door, where she is encouraged through. She proceeds through the door onto a cliff, but looks back at sparx, "How will this help?". Sparx leans up the wall, clears his throat, at points towards the sun.

She turns to find a beautiful sunrise, with the dark black outline of a lone dragon. Cynder is filled with utmost delight, and confusion "Spyro!? but how?.......", she interupts herself and rapidly approaches him. She firmly rests her head under Spyro's, and embraces him with her wing. Spyro: "How you feeling Cynder?", Cynder smiled and closed her eyes "Have never been happier!", as a tear runs down her face. Spyro casually enjoys the veiw, before Cynder raises her head, looks Spyro in the eyes and out of her heart "I love you!", followed by a warming kiss.

(Camera pans away, leaving The 2 dragons hugging on the cliff ^_^, fin!)

I love inspiration......

It's been just over a week since I joined Gamespot and the USU, and I'm settling in quite nicely; well, to know what all the major buttons and links do anyway;).

So, to kick things off: in the last hour or so I drew my banner, featuring my "dragotar" (dragon-avatar incase your lazy to think:P).

Thats all i've got for today i'm afraid...... what? Where you expecting a novel?! ;)
