@Gaming-Planet: Thanks for the homework assignment, I'll start watching now.

If you want to overclock than yes you do need a Z series mobo. But you can't just overclock any CPU. Intel's K series CPU's are overclockeable. For example i5-6600K can be overclocked but the i5-6500 you listed can not be overclocked.
Good to know, thank you.
You don't need such an expensive mobo, you'll be paying for features that you won't use. You can get a pretty nice mobo for around $125 - $160.
See, this is what I was worried about. Buying stuff I don't need because I don't know any better.
I did want to get an SSD but with the price being what it was I was going to forgo it and suffer with the longer load times. Thanks for helping me trim the fat from my first build. I appreciate it man.
Will that mobo grow with my set up? Say I wanted to upgrade: would I have to upgrade that mobo? Or just my CPU / Video card?
I've been console only since the days of Duke Nukem. I've been doing research on how to build my own rig and I think I've got an idea of what I need for what I plan on doing (but I'm probably completely wrong).
What I want is something that will run most games at 60fps/1080, but with the capability to grow if i need/want it too.
With this build (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/C7YLzy) do I leave myself the ability to upgrade some things without having to build a completely new rig within the next 3 years? I understand the "Z" is a motherboard with the ability to overclock, I don't know how to do that now, but I wanted to get it for when I feel comfortable to do so. Not trying to future proof it or anything, but I want something that can handle well.
I don't want to be a "console peasant"! Help me join the MASTER RACE please.
The story doesn't pick up until a couple hours in, which isn't ideal for a game that wants you to care about the characters.

@slfite Once you unlock all the various pipes, try working backwards. Start at the end, and turn every pipe so that once they get power it will fit and unlock perfectly. Hopefully that helps. Some of the hacking gets tough towards the end, just try to stick with it and be careful on the red pipes.
The game was really fun, but a 100% play through took me maybe 12 hours? I'd wait for a price drop, or rent it if you can? Definitely worth playing though.
@kargion
It's a little confusing at first. Once you start a new game there is a tutorial level that explains things to you. Once you get past that and into what looks like a camp/settlement, go towards the top of the screen where you can talk to a robot. From there you can set you lobby preferences public/invite/offline. Hope this helped, this is a fun game.
