so i just finished this on hardened.. took me about 8 hours i think... but i went out of my way and collected everything :P that being said, this is an Aliens game... and wandering off the well lit path of your comrade's supporting muzzle fire shouldn't be a good idea, so that's a huge let down right there... the tracker didnt work...(it only tracks enemies, not movement as it should - it really added tension back in AVP), i had to tweak the graphics from the ini file... and it looked decent.. and on some rare occasions the unreal 3 engine really got to shine, sadly not while you fought or blew stuff up (including yourself), the weapons are ok but dont expect too much.. the videos... buerk... the dialogue.. meh..and the ending left me thinking how many refund requests they got.. but the worst was the whole mission debrief thingie... it just took you of it... but i guess why bother with a script.
it had potential, but someone, somewhere decided "who cares?" these stupid sobs will buy anything... just stamp a logo on it..
@ashraf_gamespot dude you're contradicting yourself in your statement... why should that need for real talent you spoke of have disappeared?? what.. giant computers took over the world and we don't need free thought or imagination anymore?? now more than ever we need smart kids out there... and believe it or not access to information and the desire to learn ARE GOOD FOR your imagination and your BRAIN... i for one don't wanna play CoD:future warfare #45 20 years from now... also you should know.. that people that want to buy games, actually BUY them.. where i live games actually get organic feedback.. people download them, play them and if they liked it buy them off Steam or from shops, the games had good sales because they were good... not because of trial and error buys... or hype. software piracy might have been a real problem 10-12 years ago... when few people had internet... and some where making profit from selling pirated copies... THAT was piracy.. people/companies that actually make money off this or that software buy it.. you can't run your business otherwise... so i guess the only real crime is that a 15year old plays for free... and might end up creating a better game of his own design, or god forbid learn something useful at an early age (PC related). i'm sick of this constant debate over internet piracy. its been here for 10+ years and no company has went bankrupt yet... if anything most of them turned into money gobbling behemoths.
Mainstream, maybe... BUT THEY ROCKED. 1. GTA - the orginal (KOUROUNGA!!! - if i remember right :p) 2. Descent: Freespace - (cuz all of my friends got scared -and none could compete- when they saw me put on a vivaldi CD and shoot it out with the vasudans in space :D) 3. Resident Evil 2 - (i'm not sure if it makes me look cool, but i sure hope so) 4. Half Life 1+2 - (ok its two games, but i'm talking about the saga... and that was cool from the start till right down to its last installement, think it'll continue being cool :D) 5. Need For Speed UG - when it came out i was the first of my clique to get it, and the next few days afterwards (x-mas to new year's eve 2004) i had at least 2-3 friends in the house at all times, that week ROCKED :p
