@suicidesn0wman: Eh.. Put in the right area of the store, it'd be fine. I don't really want to say what company I work for but there are ways you could make a demo station safe. As for behind lock and key, we have long metal cables we attach to our demo units to keep them safe from theft.
Being supervised by an employee is actually not a horrible idea, but I have things I need to do in the store.. So I don't know how long I could stand there. lol I was thinking more along the line of one of those circular platforms with guard rails, kinda like how the old VR headsets used to have back in the early 90's.
Either way, I truly think that we need to get demo units in stores some how. I've tried OR DK2 and fucking loved it. I seriously am more hyped for PSVR than I was for the system itself, as I feel this actually finally brings something "NEW' to the table. Yes, I realize this is not new tech, BUT this has been vastly improved upon so I consider it a new device. There are even specific games I am already looking forward to, such as Golem and RIGS.
@suicidesn0wman: Apparently the like button for me is fucked. So "like" -.- Anyways, I understand the whole wait and see idea, but I'm kinda like.. We need all the early adopters we can get to show the companies we have interest. I think for some weird ass reason, people on the internet expect.. SAO level shit, and that's just not gonna happen.
Myself, my friends and all the customers coming through my store are all hyped. I just really wish the company, or hope the company, gets demo stations out there in our stores, cause THAT'S what's gonna garner the most interest for them. VR is something you have to try to believe. I know this for a fact.
@louixiii: They are, the store I work at sold out within an hour. I talk with people that are excited about it daily. Fun point? I live in a super small town. I have mine pre-ordered and am excited as hell. I wish more internet denizens would be excited for it. It kinda makes me sad every one is hating on it, when you know they haven't tried it. :(
Yes, people care. The internet is just once again focusing on the vocal minority. Working at a store taking in pre-orders on VR gear now.. I can definitely say they care and are interested.. All our pre-orders on PSVR were sold out in an hour.
People thinking its a gimmick, clearly haven't tried it. Simple as that. It's also really kinda sad to me that so many on the internet are hating on VR. You'd think that people would want new devices to experience gaming on instead of the same thing we've been using for decades...
