Well thats the thing. The same thing I put together was 1700 dollars and that was all the cheapest stuff on newegg. This pc is only 1100 and with a 8800 and another stick of ram and a 600 watt power supply its about the same has 2gig more memory then the one I put together. a monitor, a wireless keyboard and mouse. Alls I need to know is any HP computer upgradeable or not?

OK i'm lookg at this computer http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=185193&WT.mc_n=66&WT.mc_t=U&cm_ven=COMPARISON%20SHOPPING&cm_cat=DEALTIME&cm_pla=DATAFEED-%3EPRODUCTS&cm_ite=1%20PRODUCT&cm_keycode=66

Only thing I need to do is add a sitck of ram, put in a 8800 gts 640mb, and change the power supply to a 600watt. But is it possible to do all this on this PC? Or is one of those kinda pcs with good parts but its cheap, but you cant upgrade it?

Crap I'm so worried.... what if a part isn't compatible? What if a part is Doa? And the warranties... My dads computer friend isn't even sure it will all work. He said it's a very good build but he can't guarantee it will all just work. I've gotta think about it... I could just get a pre-built from ibuypower but is it true that they ship em like crap? And they are usually broken?

Do you think a 550 watt power supply could handle this setup?

Yeah I was going to build it in July. Also my dads friend is a computer expert. Worked at Microsoft and everything so he is going to put it together for me. Hes only going to charge like 100 bucks to build it. Better then doing it myself. I have never built a PC so I don't want to mess anything up.
