Why would you abandon a console with a 110+ million install base? That's like throwing away money.

I'd say, unless you had a ton of useless money floating around your house, to just stick with the old fat PS2, and upgrade to the slim if your current one breaks eventually.

Don't get me wrong, my silver slim PS2 is made of pure win, but there's no point in dropping $100+ for the same thing when the only benefit is faster loading times. $100 could get you some great games, seeing as how they're all cheap now.

I know they use that technology on the Rainbowsix games for Xbox. It works fairly well, though pressing a button is much easier. Vegas is on PC, maybe it supports it.

You'll have to import it from a import site such as Play-Asia, they have brand new wavebirds straight from Japan. I still have to pick mine up, but here's the link:
