Unfinished Business.....

Don't you just hate cliffhangers, you know that annoying thing that happens at the end of a movie or game, for example who can forget the ending to Halo 2 ,one of the biggest cliff hangers (or 'slaps to the face' as I call it) ever.

Now Infinity Ward joins the infamous group of developers who use cliffhangers. Why didn't we kill Makorov !?, Why was Price in jail !?, Who was Ghost !? and who stole my sandwich!?. These are the questions I kept asking myself (especially the sandwich one, seriously this isn't funny give it to me NOW!) after I saw those credits roll. Maybe it was because Activision wanted Modern Warfare 2 out before the Holiday Season. (Due to the alternating game releases by Treyarch and Infinity Ward.) or maybe it's because they knew a cliffhanger was an easy way of increasing sales for the next Modern Warfare 2. But Infinity Ward isn't that evil, so all fingers point towards Activision and their power-hungry lust for money.

If Activision wasn't so greedy for money Modern Warfare 2's campaign mode would have lasted longer. But atleast Infinity Ward was nice enough to give us Spec Ops mode and an even better Multiplayer game.

Try watching Machinima's 'All your History are belong to us' episodes about the Call of Duty Franchise ( here is a link to episode 1 Call of Duty: All Your History Ep. 1 ) and you may understand what I'm talking about.

Watch the Bungie Episodes to learn why Bungie had to use a cliffhanger in Halo 2.

Motion Controllers will destroy everything.

To me video gaming means three simple things; sitting on my comfy bed ,playing with a controller and having fun.

One day Nintendo came along and said " let's change the concept of video gaming for the whole world " and then came the Nintendo Wii, a family friendly console, with, Whats this !? Motion sensors!?

Even then you could sit down and just shake the controller instead of standing up and shaking the Wii mote like the idiots in the commercials

Sony made motion controllers too (Sixaxis), which was fine because like the Wiimote you never needed to stand up.

Nintendo found out no one was actually standing up and playing Wii games and said " lets add a little thingimabob on the Wii mote, that makes the motion sensors more accurate " then came the Wii motion Plus.

Sony and Microsoft started making their own motion controllers, Sony created that Wand thing (I have no idea what the real name is) and Microsft created the Natal.

And so comes the real dilemma behind this blog.

The sony wand wants people to play FPSs like your holding a real gun, Hack and Slash games like your really hackin and slashin. The worst of all of the mentioned controllers though, is the Natal which actually forces people to stand up and play video games, a contoller-less experience as Microsoft calls it, is going to ruin video gaming for everyone.

You may ask "So what if it's contoller less, that means we get more exercise" now imagine getting back from work, it was a hot summer day and you are tired and stressed, you might wanna play a fighting game like Tekken to relieve some stress but NO. With Natal you'd be forced to throw you're own punches and block enemy attack yourself.

If Motion Controllers replace Controllers, video games won't be fun anymore. Think about what would happen to the Halo series if Natal becomes the default controller. FPS with the wand would suck too because you'd have to physically aim the gun to fire, and people with a better aim would obviously win in an online match.
