Smash closely followed by Fire Emblem.Ibacai
Same but in reverse order. So, yeah, actually pretty different.

Probably 9.0,though it will get 8.5.Greyhound222
I agree. I'll still hype it 9.0, just because evry other site will rte it at 9.5 or higher (I think), but GS will flop it. Yeah, they will find a way.

They'll probably wish you can move the camera even though the angles are all supposedly great, they'll probably say the game is too easy even though the cookie cutter is anything but, and they'll probably say that the game causes dizziness and is the second coming of the Virtual Boy. Okay, so the last bit is an exaggeration, but the rest I can definitely see happening here. Oh, and they'll complain about the multiplayer.

Yeah, you can say "Dude, you are totally overreacting to TP and Metroid!" if you want, but I think it'll be the truth. Oh, and Fire Emblem will get a 7.5 even though it's the best turn-based strategy game for the next generation. In the very least, it's the best strategy game for the Wii, and that should give it an 8.0. The lack of voice acting, the similarities to the GCN version, not using the Wii controller, no online/creating maps, and bad multiplayer will take off of the score. Oh, and they may say that the story is too simple, and the game is too hard too.

Yeah, it'll totally happen, and if it does, my respect for GS is officially lost (not like anyone cares, just saying). GameSpy will be the other trustable review site besides just IGN for me.

Well you could always get the 360s other great exclusives, Gears and Bioshock. Oh wait.taikthebate
Yeah, I agree with yoou. Plus, PC games are better because of mods, so it's a win-win.

With all of the press from EA, Valve, etc. of late with their typical "We should pay more attention to the Wii", I see lots of bad things happening to gaming in the not so distant future.

Think about it: Game publishers are purely looking at this from a "how many consoles will company X have in the next 2-3 years" and they have a very flawed logic about this. They see the Wii as this cash cow, but a cash cow for who? The NPD numbers clearly show that the Wii, having at LEAST the same number of consoles out there as the 360, sells less than half as many games. Why is that? Because casuals rarely buy games. Because Hardcore gamers don't buy 5 hour minigames for $50.

Yet the corporate idiots at EA, Valve, Ubisoft, etc. pay attention to attach rates, the real measure of sales potential, about as much as they pay attention to the gamers themselves (hint: not very much).

Look, I like my Wii, and I hope to actually have fun games to play on it one day (besides wii sports). But I don't like it so much that I'd rather have game publishers force developers to work on Wii games over the 360 or even PS3. Why? Because yeah I might be in the minority who can afford to buy 2 or more $60 games every month, own a 100" HDTV projector, and have 7.1 surround, but damn Nintendo if they force the industry to water down the development on higher performance consoles.

MrEpyx
360 has been out longer, so it's more likely to have more games sold. I's just natural.

This is semi-unfair because you never hype any games. Sega hasn't really made much that's hype-wprthy recently ( no offense, just stating that they really haven't).

Panzer_Zwei

Why does he have to only hype Sega games? He may be a Sega purist, but he doesn't just play their games either. :| Panzer is one fo the few who doesn't get into the "hyping" scene with games really. I kind of wonder what's the point too....

Exactly, it's not a must to hype a game. But if you get in the hyping scene where you're going to use it against the other factions, might as well take it when it fails you.

kay, I get it now. I just wanted it explained. :P

Yeah, I hyped it AAA here, but I wasn't exactly going to praise GS for giving it a 9.0. I was just hyping it to see if it would happen.I guess I'll semi-accept ownage then. :P

Yeah, I know, but I think you know what I actually meant. I just didn't say it very well. XD

What I meant was that I think you should hype something before you bash it. I haven't seen him hype anything. If you're going to bash people for taking a risk and hyping something, I think you should have taken that risk too.

Just my opinion, of course.

*takes hand and drags over to IGN*

Wii owners have an AAA game. :)

The power of denial is strong, isn't it?

By now it's probably second nature.

Still...did they criticize Bioshock for not having online? If they criticized Metroid for it, I want to see a criticism of every FPS/FPA out there for not having it, regardless of whether it fits the gameplay or not, as it apparently doesn't matter to them. For instance, RE4 could have a MP aspect. Why not? I mean, it has a bunch of different characters, weapons, and environments to use. It's almost better suited than MP3...actually, I think it is...besides the point that it would defy its whole genre.

Oh well, I just think this review could be more accurate. If the controls are "too good", can't they play it on a lower level to make it "harder?" I mean, things like that where they complain about something that IS changeable are kind of ridiculous. I mean, I know they won't change the review, but saying the game is too easy because of the controls when you couls change the controls to make it harder if it's a problem is weird. I mean, I know people want to play with the best controls, but still...

This isn't an attempt at damage control, I'm just genuinely interested in what the reviewer was thinking when these things happened. They seem to be rather easy to refute...Like saying a game is too easy on easy mode or something.

I might as well go ahead and say this: I think SMG will be 8.0-8.5 here and 9.5+ everywhere else. SSBB will be 7.5-8.0 here and 8.5-9.0 else. Just guesses, but I'm pretty sure they will prevail. You might say "over-reaction", but wait until Halo 3 gets an 8.5, along with every other good game coming out. :P

Oh, and by the way, the Super Metroid review was even worse. The only con is that there is no other version besides the SNES one (which should be a pro). If it was available, that would mean it could be a woorse way of getting it.

The Wii, most easily. It also gets bashed with the most illogical, tired and recycled arguments.foxhound_fox
I think the Wii gets bashed the most on this board, at least. Every lemming probably thinks bad things about the PS3, but there aren't usually huge topics about it like the Wii ones.

*classic controller*

As we've seen from Fire Emblem, Guilty Gear, and Smash

*zapper*

Comes with RE:UC and I think Ghost Squad, also has support with games like Metal of Honor: Allied Assualt.

*wheel*

Comes With Mario Kart Wii

If I were you I'd be more worried about genres that don't mesh in with the PS3 and 360.

Dencore

There's also a third party hori stick for fighting games, but I guess that doesn't add anything new (plus...it's really expensive).

But yeah, forgoing the new control scheme is probably the way to go for 2D fighters and traditional RPGs.
