I understand that games cost a lot of money to make in these days. And I understand that it is a big risk. But where will it end? 70$? 80$?
But my main problem is actually with digital distribution. I'm a Steam user, I own more than 100 games (AAA and indie) on this service, I stopped buying boxed copies since I discovered Steam, and extremely happy with it. But I'm puzzled how come a digital distributed game costs the same as a boxed copy. There are no shipment cost, no manufacture costs, etc. You can't even resell a digital copy, so it is 100% earning for the developer/publisher.
I would have expected from a digital copy to be cheaper than a boxed price. But I guess our economic system doesn't work like that.
This is why I almost never buy a PC game on day one. I wait for a price reduction on Steam, and only then I buy the copy. But I'm a guy that can wait for the price to go down, even if it means waiting for several months. I understand those that can't.
