sadly it can not be put down, even though technically he is not alive. You can take a brain dead person off of life support though. The only thing the parent's can do is give him up for adoption, but I could be wrong.

Doesn't have a brain, then what regulates his body? My personal opinion is that a body is a body and a brain is the actual person, they need to just put that thing down, so it is not a burden to the parents.
