For me i just got done playing mass effect 2 when i picked XIII up, so the linear thing was a bit of a break from the more open-ended games. however im already starting to get a lil bored goin from board to board killin enemies. i got passed chp. 11 where it opens up for a bit but really all that did was make me want ff XII. but still and all good story, music and graphics.

I don't think VII is overrated it was a great game with every element needed to be a great game at least i thought so. I don't think it should of gotten a spin off though. I liked VI alot to. I don't know if i'd say VI is better than VII but I wouldn't say VII is better than VI either the're different in many respects down to the way each plot s told it comes down to preference.

If there was a poll asking which ff was best and VII won I don't think it means its overrated as much as more people like it the best.

If the contest is for more evil I really can't see an argument against Kefka because he enjoyed killing where as everyone else had other reasons to do it weather to take over the world or because he wanted to avenge his mommy.

But as far as better developed I might say Sephiroth because he was given most back story and was truly more complex a character than any other. I dn't believe Kefka got much of a backstory i could be wrong i havent played in a while and coulda missed it even still but do correct me if im wrong.

Word that's awesome. I mean i played the gba versions of VI and IV. I thought VI was amazing but IV i didn't think aged nearly as well. Though i could probably see as a great game in its day. Its plot elements are in this day cliche but back then they were probably more fresh.(i played them late) But VI i'd say is one of my favorites if not my favorite. I don't know if i'd say all pre sony ffs are better, cus i think all the sony ffs are great to except VIII, X-2, XI and XII just IMO tho.

I'm just curious to know how many people that post here have played pre sony final fantasys. I'm not trying to suggest those who haven't aren't true ff fans or anything like that i'm just trying to get a sense of where everyone started from.

I'm pretty excited about it though i really don't like having to wait til the xbox version is ready. I just hope the battle system isn't too similar to XII's.
