Mate, I assume your signed up to this website because your a gamer, yeah? How the hell can you concentrate on games with all those horrible little annoying noises?

Rock music! It helps you concentrate (If it isn't hardcore metal)

If anything, electro would appeal to gamers even more than rock.

Exactly, the constant high paced BPM or "rhythm" is better for gaming I think. A lot of great music being posted...

Great track...why is electro dance music not popular in the US like it is in Europe? :( ....can't find a House/Techno club anywhere here.

Thank you, thank you...good stuff. Hybrid was awsome, and that Deadmau5 track was great too. I'm a sucker for live performances and mixes.

Is anyone here into Electro (Dance/House/Techno/Trance) music at all? I just started getting into it a few months ago after hearing Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta. I've also been listening to trance after hearing some Tiesto. So any advise on some good Electro artist I need to hear? I obviously need some catching up to do. (Side note: life long hip-hop fan...but I think I found my new favorite genre next to hip-hop) Examples: Swedish House Mafia - One http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkQ5rEJaTmk Axwell (From Swedish House Mafia) - Nothing But Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TnCPIGZfwI David Guetta - Love Is Gone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHTT__uvD2E Tiesto - Elements Of Life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE7CXZ1Lyu4 And lastly a new entry to the bucket list: See Swedish House Mafia life! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k19Am36-g0

[QUOTE="JML897"][QUOTE="Big_Bad_Sad"] [QUOTE="Big_Bad_Sad"] I cant believe he sampled King Crimson. He should apologise to music.Big_Bad_Sad

Why is Kanye sampling King Crimson a bad thing?

He should make his own music. Anyone can sample music and 'sing' over it. It doesnt take a genius.

Its not just King Crimson. Id be surprised if he could put his name to any song he has ever released.

That is VERY untrue. Sampling in some cases can be harder than making a 100% original instrumental. You have to take something that is already its own body of work (and in some times a different genre) and take parts of it and make it completely different. I've fooled around with some sampling and I can tell you, its not easy at all (especially if you want it to sound good). And in most cases you don't take the WHOLE instrumental, just bits and pieces, edit them down with different programs and plugins, then add them to your own instrumental.

It's kind of hard to hate someone you have never met. And base all your hate off of 3-5 min videos you see of him... I understand why he said what he said about Taylor Swift, but it was just the wrong place at the wrong time. He makes timeless music and it pushing hip-hop to new levels. Can't hate on him when he sticks to his guns. I thought he summed up this whole conversation in this new interview: Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uq3W-E782kc Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQa5MoRGoGk

Kevin Garnett

LeBron

Floyd Mayweather

Rafael Nadal

LIONHEART-_-
Lebron James - Wait, wait...(this is not just because I'm from Ohio)...So you're telling me that taking a team from the bottom of the league (02-03 season, 16-65) to taking them to the NBA finals in less than 4 years by himself is overrated? NBA MVP? Youngest to be rookie of the year? Youngest to score 1,000 - 15,000 points? ect. I swear...the man could average a quadruple double season a people would still scream overrated. Floyd Mayweather - (Die hard boxing fan...can't let you get away with this one) 41-0, 6 time WBC champion in 5 different weight classes (Featherweight all the way to Super Welter). Genaro Hernandez, Emanuel Augustus, Diego Corrales, Jesus Chavez, Castillo (twice), Gatti, prime Zab Judah, De Le Hoya (at super welter), Ricky Hatton, JMM, and Shane Mosley...The man has never even been close to loosing (MAYBE castillo...but that's arguable). He has never been knocked down, never even truly seen him hurt, he wins by a mile every time he fights....so what is so over rated about that? Ok...thats the end of my rant lol

I remember this...there was a big controversy with Eminem performing with Elton John because he was gay and all the "anti-gay" lyrics in Eminems music. I prefer the original but I'm glad he did this performance with Elton John.

[QUOTE="MPC5000"]Alright, never posted on Gamespot before, but after seeing a few of these "rap is crap" topics I have to say something. First off I am a fan of good music, anything from Jay-Z to Daft Punk, to Coldplay...not any particular genre. I do listen to Rap more than any other form of music, but good music is good music. With that said, who is to say that Soulja Boy doesn't make good music? People like Soulja Boy make music for their audience and for their setting....partying...No body wants to hear or dance to Nas or Immortal Technique (no disrespect) when they're trying to party and have a good time. Find me one female dancing to Immortal Technique and prove me wrong (rhetorical). So for that audience and setting he makes great music along with all the other "party rappers". There is a time and a place for every type of music, when I'm by myself just listening to some lyrical rap I'll throw on some Q-Tip, Jay-Z, Andre 3000 ect.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EWruiIjBmo When I want to get the party started I'll throw on some Gucci Mane, Soulja, or some New Orleans Bounce music (can't go wrong with N.O. bounce remixes)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WNs7pdsPCo When I'm just chilling not doing anything I'll throw on some vibe music like Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Big KRIT ect... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKWFvbgkWls (Side note: anybody recognize this sample? It's from Chrono Trigger...good stuff) My point is: There is a time and a place for all music...mrbojangles25

welcome to OT, and thanks for making your first post a good one! Not many do :P

Ha, thanks...Just sick of people always putting down other peoples music just because they are not cultured in that genre. Take the blinders off and the earplugs out, and you'll be surprised on what you actually like.
