the best idea has to be to make one system your primary, then the others are merely secondary. with pc and herming, i guess i can see why you would make it primary, but it doesn't really make sense.
i know that you can do things like have dedicated partitions on your hard disk just for gaming etc, eg have a separate windows which doesn't have all the bloat installed so your pc goes fast. but in my opinion this is a great deal of extra effort.
another strategy could be to simply throw heaps of money at your pc, that way when you go to looad games you don't have to bother with right clicking every little thing in the system tray and closing it, because with all that extra power you can handle no problem.
cos you see the thing is you can just buy a normal workhorse pc and a cheap $100 graphics card and boom - pc gaming. it will be pretty awesome just like that, can definitely get into the big PC games like Day Z, arma, WOW, guild wars 2, rome total war - all that stuff. why spend heaps more money simply to play a bit faster when you could buy a console.
plus with console games (at the moment) if you buy the retail disc you can sell it again and get some money back. i remember how robbed i felt back in like, 2004 when i entered my half life 2 cd key into steam and that was it. no on sell, it is tied to me. and consolites today complain about the online pass, give me a break. And in other news - Still can't upload my sig :(
