Old Horror Radio Plays

Being an avid fan of classic horror/sci-fi films, I was thrilled to find that people had released classic horror-themed radio dramas that spanned from 1920's through 1960's on the interwebs. One such of these sites, Relic Radio.com, has released a podcast series entitled "The Horror! (Old Time Radio)" specifically for the wonderfully macabre and creepy gems that would have otherwise been likely forgotten in this hustling and bustling century. The beauty of these radio plays is that you can listen to them while gaming or driving, etc. Stories from great stations like Scott Bishop's Oklahoma-based "Dark Fantasy" or the CBS Radio Mystery Theater. Stations like these often had great hosts and classic stories from the likes of H.P Lovecraft, Algernon Blackwood and Edgar Allen Poe. And the audio quality is very authentic, with bursts of static and that overall fuzziness over the whole thing. Some podcasts I would recommend if you're interested are "The Horror! (Old Time Radio)" and "Tales of Horror Podcast". Some plays I would recommend would be; The Dunwich Horror, Land of The Living Dead and The Thing From The Sea. Put a few of these into a playlist with some good old 50's era music ( I like to use the music from Fallout 3) and you've got yourself several hours of auditory entertainment to go along with that new game of yours.
