Atlong XP 2800+, Nvidia 7600GT, 2Gb Ram DDR400, 5000rpm Western Digital 500Gb ATA HDD. All settings low, no problems so far. Plays great, no screen tearing as well on Bnet.
It's clear as daylight that 1080 is smoother than 720, but why couldn't the test be done on the same level? (and by that I mean 720 vs 720 rather than 1080 vs 720 in some cases) I know I can't afford a full HD TV set but on the one I have (hd ready) it's barely noticeable since I'm not sitting close to the screen to identify every single detail. Normally I would've said this test is fair but the Xbox acts closer to the PC basics while the PS3 is on a completely different level. Also the architecture of the PS3 makes it harder to encode games for it and sometimes producers do a crappy job (unlike MW2 and DAO) which results in this great advantage for the 360 and I expected the Xbox to do a lot better since encoding games for it easier than doing it for the PS3 but... Thus this is a great achievement for the PS3 to gain so much ground with only a rez of only 720 (in some cases) and act as a standalone product, unlike the 360 who, besides having so much "experience" in this domain, only wins by pure resolution and better encoding. My opposition is that all depends on your taste and gaming desires. I like RPGs and N1 made the best one out there, that I currently still enjoy and play like a maniac. Next gen? 2 years ago it would've been the 360, but now... I'd beg to differ, and even though I'd have the opportunity to get a 360 I'd rather save a little bit more money for the Ps3
it's been a really lousy year for gamers... I remember that 3 years ago I couldn't decide what to buy for christmas and now with such a low quantity of hq games.... well you get the idea. I already ordered my present for X-mas. So this was really a bad year for games...
I believe this is good, but what kind of use would this be for MW2 in mp or any other shooters when you play let's say a round of deathmatch? I don't and I wouldn't enjoy seeing any pedestrians in the game spoiling my killing spree. Also is there a difference between a good guy shooting a terrorist and a terrorist shooting a good guy? I think they pretty much had the same abilities and condition there would be none cause each would think the other one is the bad guy. No point to put these in shooter(at least the multiplayer content) but this is a must for RPGs. I think I would play Ar Tonelico a lot more, even to find the different ending if there was a good/neutral/evil and lawful/neutral/chaotic alignment like in NWN which would pretty much affect my abilities and party(unlike NWN) and even the endings. But let's not say this is easy cause the producer would have to work on a lot more scrips in this case, and as we all know... why change something that actually works fine with something that may fail?
