MadDog1250 Blog

In case of fanboyism,

This isnt really a blog, this is a request.

I dont know if anyone will read this, but it feels good to get it off my chest.

Drop fanboyism - totally.

I dont want to go into any game review etc etc to be confronted with a group of xbox fanboys going hahahaps3 users suck hahaha.

I am comfortable with my purchase, and noone has the right to try and make me feel bad for that or anyone else for that matter.

I think the 360 has a lot of issues but i have better things to do than go round and flame people who have xboxes k?

thanks everyone

Well you got the Shock part right at least

So here i am, i have bought bioshock off steam, i have pyed more thna retail for the pc version for the comfort of having it preinstalled the week before release, and knowing that it will be saved forever in the event of my pc exploding etc etc.

So why am i not happy?

Allow me to elaborate.

In order to play bioshock i needed to upgrade my pc, i figured a geforce 8800 would handle it quite nicely, so i buys one. i put it in my pc, all is well until i realise that my pc is slowly melting my room. Yup that 8800 is powerful, and has managed to push my processor temp into the late 80's. you dont need much comp knowledge to know that aint good.

So after having spent 300 quid plus on the game and card , i have no cash left to buy a new fan or coolant for my pc, im now stuck.

After thinking for a while i remove my case and stick a desktop fan beside the pc, this cools it immensly but is neither practical nor attractive , and as a pc whore who wants as manyglowy things as possible on my case, not acceptable.

So i go back to the drawing board, convinced that this is all going to be worthwhile.

I sit and look at my pointless glowy bits on the case, wait a minutre, those LEDS have fans attatched to them!, so i spend a while playing round with the fans , moving them to different parts of the case to find the 'trouble spots'.

The whole process takes about an hour

So i eventually find the good place for it, and fix the fans there, but the four pin power pins have fallen out, well it doesnt matter where they go back in right??? wrong!

So i spend even longer playing around with the power leads, i only just have enough as the 8800 requires 2 power plugs itself.

Eventually get it all working, - its release day, 15 minutes til 5 o clock, the magical bioshock release date.

me and a css clan friend are sat waiting for the clock to strike, having both preinstalled we are feeling pretty smug.

5 o clock comes,

5 o clock goes

6 o clock goes

7 o clock goes

still no bioshock, wait, whats that, its reinstalling

What?

why\

?

oh well, just another 1.5 gig to download

so finish downloading

After 4 hours lateness it decides t work

But not very well, it seems i need to download some beta drivers to run bioshock? this thing has its own drivers ffs.

Ok, ive loaded bioshock, all is well, the struggle was worth it and the plane crash escape scene is immense, im playing the game absolutely fine. i get to the first loading point - entering rapture.

It freezes my pc.

I do this several times, and you cant save until you enter rapture, i like the opening sequence, but not this much.

8th retry, im desperate. down to 600x580 resolution and everything on low.

it crashes

then it occurs to me, maybe i havent sacrificed enough babies this month?

I sacrifice one (*joke*)

It works, it seems that bioshock has a bit of a character

It likes to crash for no reason whenever it feels like it

The cheeky chappy.

so i love the game, i now *hopefully* have got it running, no crashes for a day (must be some kind of record)

But im not playing it, i love it, i love it loads.

But until its fixed, im not gonna enjoy it.

Why didnt i get the 360 version???? cos i still hope they'll make it for ps3.

So bishock

Great game, but why is it so broken :(
