I misunderstood your posting. I thought you were talking about a game update. What you were in fact talking about was a dashboard update, wasn't it? Well then - you needed the update because the game was using some functionality not present in your old version. The spring 07 changelog is here - http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/2007/0408-im.htm . No, you won't need to update the dashboard with every game - you only do it once for each dashboard update, and those only come out twice a year. This will not affect your saves at all, but it may affect some games. Usually these are changes for the better.

You don't need the update just to play the game. You need the update to play online. You can still play single player or via system link over LAN without the update. You don't get much choice as to whether to get the update or not so that everybody on Live is playing the same game. And no, you won't need to do this with every game made after a certain date - you will need to do this with every game, period.

The demo was largely unimpressive and short. I liked it the first time the tall monster came at me after he was downed. When the second did exactly the same, tha magic disappeared. The graphics are nice, yes, but not that nice. I like the enemy models though. And the semi-destructible pillars.

Would you shut up about the specs being unavailable? Of course there are specs available! Just not to Joe Sixpack. Developers know every nook and cranny of the system. I for one believe the guy. It isn't something he can lie about. At least if he cares about his future credibility. Besides, the games look more or less the same don't they?

Accept it? Hell no! I'm a customer. I don't want my stuff braking down. Period. My 360 has frozen on me quite a few times during GRAW 2, but it looked more like software bugs than hardware problems.

The dvd drive manufacturer is AFAIR Hitachi. And it's still the exact same drive so no wonder it still scratches disks. No biggie though. The only time you would ever want to actually touch the console is when you change disks. And that causes spindown instantly. Why oh why would you ever want to touch it when not changing disks? Let alone switch it's position ingame?
