Banyon

I finally found the pilot plus one episode for another one of my guides--Banyon, a private eye drama starring Robert Forster and Richard Jaeckel that aired on NBC in 1972. Unfortunately, the show lasted only 16 episodes as NBC was notorious in those days for giving quick hooks and not allowing new shows to develop an audience. (sound familiar?) But fortunately, I myself used to watch the show on regular basis on Friday nights at 10:00. I think I started watching the show because Richard Jaeckel was on it. The Dirty Dozen was one of my favorite movies as a young pi$$ant and Jaeckel and John Cassavetes were my two favorite actors from that movie. I wish I could find the entire series but so far no luck. It was produced by QM Productions and I think most of the shows produced by them are in a legal tangle. Even the bootleggers can't get copies.
