It would sell. It is pretty much the ultimate football mmo/social game. It is almost exactly like you and your friends making a football team that could play in the NFL. If their were cash prizes for the top league winners and MVPs I am sure it could sell hundreds of thousands of copies
A lot of the coding is already there in Madden. They already have the create a player function and create a team function. They have Online Mode too. Coding for the draft part of it is easy as they already have a draft in their superstar mode. Making a leaderboard is easy. I know it would take a few years but they could do it
Each user pick a position for their custom player they then can either A. Create a New Team, all position would be filled by CPU players until they added their friends or other people online, B. Join an existing Team, for example they could create an account as a running back and join their friend, a quarterback's, team, C. Participate in mini-games AKA training camp to be assigned a score and then be entered into a draft based on their ranking. For instance if they scored in the top 100 at their position they might be entered into a draft with the top 32 teams in the world. If they scored in the top 200 they would be in a draft with the 33-64 ranked team etc. If they are not drafted they can enter again in the next months draft or enter the Free agent Market where they would be paid in game dollars by teams to join them. They could use those dollars to customize or upgrade their players. Once a team is made they will be placed into tiers based on their results. Each tier would have a 16 game season where teams can win in-game-dollars and compete for the playoffs. The best teams in each tier would be promoted and the worst demoted. EA Sports could get money from this by selling and the game and in Game purchases. They could also broadcast the top games on their website.
