Can you link me to that definition of an established franchise? www.commonsense.com :POh so you made it up sweet.[QUOTE="Maglovin"][QUOTE="Malta_1980"]
A well established franchise means the series had 2 or more games out which were well received by media & public, had great review scores and sold well.. (though sales should be really counted).. Also means the games are coming from a high profile dev with a good history of great titles..
So having sequels to games such as no more heroes, Red steel, Bloombox which had good scores doesnt mean they are sequels to an established series..
So thats why i said the only established franchises for Nintendo Wii are any eventual ZELDA / MARIO / METROID games...

I dont know why people have such a hard time admitting the Wii has a better upcoming library of exclsuives... I mean, it's already leading gamespot reviews with its 2009 exclusives.Established franchises isn't a very good measure of console success, even for the gamer crowd. First of all, established franchises get worn out and turn into low quality ports of their predecessors pretty often. Secondly, a lot of established franchises are pretty inconsistent. A good example is Tales, which has games out on pretty much every platform, yet their quality seems to correspond to the average quality of a game on that platform. Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles is a good example too, because that's an awful franchise spawned from a venerable franchise.

[QUOTE="Maglovin"]How do you determine they are not established franchises Chutebox?Malta_1980

Can you link me to that definition of an established franchise?I think that's already been covered. Please name me more established exclusivegames from established franchises coming to your console if you disagree. New Zelda + Mario + Pikmin 3 Dragon Quest X[QUOTE="Maglovin"][QUOTE="Malta_1980"]
and with the exception of old franchises like Zelda / Mario / Metroid, what other established titles you see?? I dont see any others..
Cause you know games such as Monster Hunter or Dragon Quest can go either way depending on variation (Monster Hunter) and story (Dragon Quest)..

Those are the only established franchises on your list. And like I said, I haven't seen any actual news concerning the first three.
So by blatantly disregarding the games I've listed from established franchises you're accomplishing what exactly?Sure its a safer bet than games, but that doesnt change the fact that Wii lineup is a safer bet than its competitors because it has more established franchises on the list. Lets look at sports for instance, the oddsmakers base betting on the past victories of teams and fighters to predict the odds of their future endeavors. Same applies here. Not sure what's so difficult about it to understand.[QUOTE="Maglovin"][QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]
then the world not ending tomorrow seems like a much safer bet than betting on games. this forum has seen many, many flops including lots of games from proven franchises.
