Is the leveling/gear system default in online? That does not belong in any competitive game. If I was getting this game, I would never play with levels/gear. As for the gameplay, jeez, It doesn't really look exciting. I could see why people not into fgs would get into it though.

Uhh, MvC2 and MvC3 are fundamentally excellent fighting games. Some would consider them the height of their genre with good reason. You just lost a lot of credibility with that statement.

Nah bro, you are the odd corn flake here. You would have to explain how a game that started many pro fighting gamers' careers, one that some pros proposed to give classes on in a college setting -- one that has so much depth that it alone (MvC2) gave birth to an entire sub-genre of fgs and took around 13 years to nearly exhaust all possible combos and setups with most characters -- is somehow a "pile of shit" according to rando internet guy.
KI is good. While it is better than MK-styled fgs imo, it still doesn't box in the league of MvC2 or UMvC3 or even modern SF.
Also, perfect balance is something fg developers should not try to pursue. Some of the recent attempts at doing so in fgs tell us why: the big question is how will they achieve it? Most attempts to achieve this in games cannot come without developers trying to force or divine their will for people actually playing the game. This usually comes at a significant cost to character uniqueness (or usefulness of unique moves), or a stifling of the game's engine to the point where most characters do the same thing. There are so many problems that arise from this.
