Um I think that there's a small point being overlooked here. How much did it cost to build the PC these shots were taken from? and exactly how much are you willing to shell out extra so you get a relatively minimal graphical update. The fact that the PC is even included in this says alot about how far it has fallen.
err whats with bashing the graphics in Halo 3? I mean serioulsy. The art design is spectacular the scope is imense and the graphics are spectacular. Serioulsy I'm guessing people are commenting without seeing the game in motion. the frame rate is smooth even when the flood are pouring all over the place.. the battles that take place in halo 3 are massive and yet they still managed to make the game look spectacular.
familyguyvs360, I guess you couldnt come up with a better responce to Nikefreak? Oh well. You know, its funny how rabbid all the Sony fanboys are getting at the moment. Going as far as attacking the credibility of a popular and well respected gaming site simply because you cant cope with the fact that Sont have made some bad decisions recently is simply dumb. Gamespot are merely reflecting the feeling of the majority of people out there and the general attitude toward the Playstation 3 that is shown by its drop in popularity. The fact of the matter is that Sony got arrogant and have underestimated the markets changing needs and fluxuations. Microsoft have done extremely well and built a console that caters to the growing market and evolves in line with what its Fanbase is asking for. And Nintendo have innovated and created a new platform that apeals to a whole new demographic widening the scope and definition of Games themselves. Sony simply did not evolve in line with the rest of the market. They need to start listening to articles like this one that is valid and well written in my opinion. Sony need to get back in touch with the Market and its customers and if they cant evolve they will die, that is the nature of buisiness. It is becoming more and more clear that Sony are trying to apease the fanbase but havent yet realised that a bunch of Focus groups and online surveys arent going to get them a clear picture of what people want. They are sitting up in their executive boardrooms detatched from the reast of the world asking the question "so what are the kids interested in these days" There are a few reasons that I am not getting a PS3 right now. The Price being the biggest one and the lack of games. But also the feeling that Sony are detatched. I dont care if its fake or real but Nintendo and Microsoft are clearly making me feel that they are interested in providing me with a service that I enjoy. Yes of course they are doing it because they want my money and no I have no illusions they care about me on a personal level, hwever I feel that they have realised that Customers want to feel that if they are paying for a service they want to feel that that money is buying them a level of respect from the company and that the company realises that it would be nothing without our money. Sony is giving the impression that they are bigger than us. Sony seem to be saying that they dont need their customers, that they are invincible and we will buy their product no matter what they try and sell us because they are the almighty Sony. I'm sorry but that just rubs me up the wrong way. You want my money Sony then you need to cater to ME not yourselves. Microsoft and Nintendo seem to be getting that. Evolve or die Sony those are the options. Personaly I hope you learn.
That could be because you are unlikely to se MGS4 this year. The lineup of games that are coming out on the PS3 is pretty poor certainly with very few exiting franchises likely to be finished this year. Oh and by the way.. The porn industry has adopted HDDVD as its standard format... HAHA!!! you know what that means Betaray.
Davelops thats a load of BS UK gamers are nintendo fanboys? The gamecube and N64 had shockingly low sales here compared to the PS and PS2. And as it stands I can see no real reason than brand name recognition for the PS3 performing beter than the 360, and with its high price tag and lacking shipments, somehow I have more faith in peoples inteligence than sony does at this point. Sony have become arrogant and think that they can sell you anything any way they want because they own the Playstation brand name... Its not realy that long passed since I remember another Japanese console manufacturer taking that attitude and look where that got them. Earlier this year I was looking forward to getting a PS3 to sit beside my 360, but after the E3 shambles and countless other blows and nonesensical arrogant claims from sony I said screw it and Preordered the Wii instead. Atleast Nintendo have shown that they have learnt lessons ad are realy doing somthing interesting. I think Sony need the PS3 to flop and to get their heads sorted out, go away and come back when they have a better attitude and somthing to actualy offer me for my money. Dont get me wrong I was happy with my PS2 but this time round, like alot of other people I have spoken to, I'm sitting out on sony and hoping they get their act together for the PS4.
Interestingly many of the best games in the video were not developed by american companies. Burnout, Geometry wars, Okami, Resident Evil 4 etc etc... Infact this whole article simply illustrates how many great games arent developed by americans. Yes I'm not missing the fact that the video was simply lots of guns and explosions, Eg fireworks. But the quality of the games on the list is a little dubious. Anyway the video was entertaining and I'll just sit here and smile in amusement with the rest of the world while the Americans parade around and clap at themselves, pat eachother on the back and reassure themselves just how amazing and "free" their country is. Its always funny watching people self dilude and brainwash themselves then wave a flag around and deny that they wave it so agressively because they are semi aware that mabey its not actaly reality. Ok just kidding, :D. Go America! etc etc... Look I'm waving a flag *Wave Wave Wave* please dont shoot, bomb, use weapons of mass destruction on me. please!
D-Mazing-D "Wow, awesome thing to do for such an unbelievable system. But, where is Zelda and Banjo Kazooie?" You seem a little confused mate, Zelda came 2nd and Banjo Kazooie came on a completely diferent system about 10 years later.
Um it would seem noone actualy read tha article. The PS2 used a chip specificaly created to run PS1 games. Obviously this would simply be impractical for the 360 to do, the issue is that the architecture of the 360 is dramaticaly different than the Xbox thus software emuation is the only viable option. Those who bought the 360 and now have a problem because they cant play their particular Xbox game on it, exactly why did you buy a new console to play games you can already play on the console you own? and in future do a better job of knowing what exactly you are spending your money on thats just common sense. It would be advisable for you to understand what the reasons for the 360 not running every Xbox game out of the box before commenting as this simply shows up the fact that you have no idea what you are talking about. Backwards compatability is a novelty feature that very few people actualy use, yes its nice to have but to be honest a good quantity of games are now compatible and more are on the way. As regaurding the quality of the titles that have been made compatible. Microsoft are not choosing to make some games compatible and others not compatible thats not how an emulator works the fact of the matter is that they will try and get Halo for instance to work and coincidentaly when that works a barbie game happens to work aswell because the coding is close enough to be emulated. However alot of games, unfortunately the newer and better looking ones, pulled alot of clever programing tricks to get the Xbox displaying the quality of graphics it was capable of. This means that for instance the people who designed Farcry will have developed their own inhouse techniques whilst developing the game that are totaly different from those used in Halo 2. A software emulator has to deal with the complexities that this involves that takes alot of time and resources. Why do you think there are very few reliable emulators for the PC for consoles like the N64, PS2 etc? They aply the same principle of software emulation.
