Recently during my time of browsing Gamestop.ca's trade in deals and games, i found that if you traded in your old Xbox 360 console you could get the new (4GB with Kinect or 250GB standard) for $100 less than the list price. So after waiting for the console to arrive in my hands I will finally give you my reviews.

HARDWARE:

The new console is considerably slimmer and shorter than the original and is a great move from where I was. While my system is only setup on a 22 inch Samsung LCD in my brother's room it is still a good setup in HD. So while I was at EB games on sunday I bought a cheap HDMI due to the lack of HD cables included in the box. The cooling system of the slim is fantastic and silent, with my old console it was so loud you could hear it on the lower floors, but the new cooling is made up of small fans on both top and bottom for input while there is a small bit of output still on the back and a large (I'd say 120mm) fan on the side (right above CPU and GPU) venting out most of the hot air. Looks and Sounds are pretty important to the console, as we know the console has tones that play when the consoles are turned on and disc drives are opened and these cannot be turned off. Overall look is amazing with a glossy black finish and curves, giving a more extreme and sharp look to the system.

PREFORMANCE:

The console has a greatly increased preformance compared to the older models as signing in on the new dashboard is completed within seconds and graphics are enhanced (then again it may be just cause of the HDMI), and load times are slightly shorter than before. Although the loudest part is the Disc Drive I would reccomend copying your games to the hard drive and playing them from there. Visuals and framerates on Halo: Reach, GTA IV, and COD: Black Ops are all increased and are now what I think are optimal for consoles.

Currently the most heavily rumored item on Rockstar's plate is GTA V, which will be the sequel to GTA IV, Many want to know what will be in the game, For many they want alot, but for me all I want is simply the gameplay of San Andreas, with GTA IV's multiplayer and graphics. But for the sake of writing a larger article I am going to stretch it and tell why/what I would like to see. First well of course, I want to see a completely re-vamped engine that (similar to Bad Company 2, or BF3) but as unlikely as that could be it would also be pretty amazing to be able to blow up a bridge to escape the cops. Second, I would mind seeing a co-op or a way of having friends join in with invites to your game. Third, a long story line with several different options/directions (similar to Mass Effect). And finally more customization of your game (I.E. if you damage something a crew will come and repair it instead of it spawning in 3 min).

World of Warcraft is the most successful mmorpg ever made, nothing has matched up to its simplicity to get started and play. Although some people cannot afford the WoW subscription fees of $15 a month and are suprised by its continuous success. For a game that cost $25 and is continuing to have expansions that cost more than the game itself.

Last month I was extremely bored and thought maybe i should try WoW cause i've heard great things about it, 10 minutes later i couldn't put my laptop down. When the trial ran dry i had to buy the full game and i have been saving for weeks to get the Battlechest to save 15 bucks to get the burning crusade with it. Although Blizzard has though about making the game F2P i think they should go with that decision and increase their fan base by this means.

CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS; Graphics are equal or better than MW2, Weapons are substantially well, Gameplay is decent with unknown multiplayer quality, CROSSBOWS WITH EXPLODING ARROWS (best).

GEARS OF WAR 3; Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games plays the demo of GOW3, showing off HD graphics, Better gameplay, More enimies, smarter AI.

HALO REACH; Since the beta rumors of Master Chief have been spread, gameplay has been upgraded, campaign looks good.

FORZA KINECT; Forza 3 is essentially remade to be Kinect compatible for the driving and showcase experience of cars. This game looks as if the game will have upgrades, and more options/accessibilities.

XBOX 360S (XBOX 360 SLIM); The Xbox 360 Slim is the biggest announcement in the xbox family since Kinect was announced last year. The new console will be shorter, believeably just as wide, black with a glossy finish, including a 250GB internally hidden Hard Drive, More ventalation, A more soundproof case so it is "Whisper Quiet", 6 USB Ports (2 in front, 4 in back), Standard Video Out, HDMI, Power Cord Input, Optical Audio, Built In Wireless N, and as always the Ethernet Port for a wired connection for live (not for long).

Ever since call of duty world at war i havent been sure about the franchise.

when modern warfare 2 came out i thought it would be great but having a life span of less than 30 seconds it gets to become a game for extreme gamers only. this really bugs me.
