2013 - An Unexpected Year for Games

Personally, I found the year 2012 a great year for gaming. An avalanche of marvellous games were released. And so 2012 ended and a new year began. Newschannels said it wouldn't be a great year. No Olympic Games - summer and winter - and I'd think it would be the same for games.

Absolutely out of the question! If you'd think great games such as Dishonored, Assassin's Creed 3, Halo 4, CoD: Black Ops 2 and Far Cry 3 can not be surpassed, you're wrong! I see great games coming up!

Gears of War: Judgment, The Elder Scrolls Online, GTA V, Total Rome: II, Dragon Age 3, Crysis 3 and even a game like Fire Emblem are just waiting to be played!

Guys, I-AM-EXCITED.

The Truth of the Assassin's (Creed)

I'm a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed game franchise. It's gameplay is so amazing that even the normal basic controls, that only take one button to perform, look stunningly. The story is incredible and each game makes me want to play further even when the main story is over. The graphics are breathtaking and the voice-acting is superb.

Because Assassin's Creed is my most popular game franchise, I looked on wikipedia for some background information.

In AC 1 you played Altaïr. He was a member of the Hashshashin. You can translate the term 'hashish' as 'outcast' or 'rabble' or look at it a bit more... literally. Hashish means actually just... hasj. Yeah, you heard me. Fine, plain old hasj, baby! The Hashshashin probably consumed hasj before carrying out their political killings.

So it's probable that Altair was stoned when he "saw" the illusions created by the Apple of Eden. Hence, he might even be stoned all the time! So, 'Hashshashin' actually means hasj-smokers. They were probably some medieval hippie-gang smoking pot in their castle all the time. And suddenly the idea came up that they should write incredible stories about themselves. Stories of how they killed kings and rulers when actually they died of age or fell down the stairs.

I suddenly like them a bit more.
