Onslaught Released in Europe

Hello, Gamespot people.

The FPS Onslaught created by Hudson Soft has been released in Europe. The game looks decent enough, has a single player campaign, online coop and deathmatch. Until now, you've probably been yawning. Allow me to mention what is interesting.

*drum roll*

The game was released on WiiWare. *crowd gasps*

Yes. Nintendo's download service where rookie developers throw their stuff on. An actual 3D shooter.

Right now your interest might be sparked, but you might be bracing yourself for painful graphics and loads of lag when you're playing online. And though it's on WiiWare, you might be doubtful about the price tag.

Now, the graphics: they aren't great or anything, but for Wii and especially for WiiWare, it could be much much worse. In fact, the visuals shine here and there! Just look it up and you'll see what I'm talking about!

Now, the lag. We all know Wii's online gameplay is generally less than brilliant ( to state it mildly ) and thus I can expect people to have low hopes. However, prepare for a cheerful surprise! No one who's played it has experienced lag and the online play "sets a new standard on Wii", as some state it. There's an online coop, online deathmatch and leaderboards for score freaks.

Now, the price tag. I know what you're feeling; though the game might be good and for Wiiware, it'll cost me a full Wii Points Card ( 2000 Points ) and probably additional downloads ( more Points ) to fully enjoy it. Guess what? Another uplifting surprise; the bargain price of 1000 Wii Points is all you're going to have to spend to enjoy one of, if not the, greatest Wiiware title to date! You can spend another thousand on classic games or another Wiiware game worth looking into.

If you're a European Wii owner, there is really no reason not to check this game out.

If you're an American, assuming the price tag will be 1000 Wii Points there also, get this when it's released! Keep an eye out for it because the release date is TBA right now. Who knows? It might be Monday.
