The title is no joke. I am boycotting both RedOctane and Activision and encouraging others to do the same. Why you ask? The recent announcement of Guitar Hero: On Tour has really steamed my @$$. Not the game itself...one particular feature. For those who haven't read the article yet, Click Here.

Hopefully we're all on the same page now. The feature I speak of is having players "blow into the microphone to extinguish a pyrotechnics effects gone wrong". What are you people thinking?!?! Are you not aware of the tragedies that occurred from "pyrotechnics effects gone wrong", RedOctane? The big one that comes to mind is the 100+ people that lost their lives at the Station nightclub in Rhode Island in 2003. (For more on the incident, Click Here) Another pyrotechnical incident some of you may remember involved James Hetfield of Metallica in 1992 (again, Click Here). And for those of you old folks such as myself, Michael Jackson's incident in 1984 (Click Here).

I would sincerely hope RedOctane would have a bit more respect for those who have lost their lives or been severely burned in pyrotechnical accidents, but until they do show respect, I will continue to boycot RedOctane and Activision products and I will continue to encourage others to do the same.
