Spring Break. Finally.

Yes! It's finally here! Alright, let me sum up the basic, boring details of my past few weeks. Latin. Studying. All the freaking time. Working forty + hours a week on top of schooling. I haven't even had time for Minecraft, and I always make time for Minecraft. On the bright side there are only like six or seven more weeks of the semester left, and I'll be out of school for a few months and only have work to contend with.

Gaming wise, I went ahead and purchased Dragon Age II through Steam, and I don't regret it one bit. Sure, EA is a little bit irritating from a computer gamers standpoint, but Dragon Age is on of the series that they provide immense support for. Likely this is to cover for their crappy coverage of games like Dead Space 2, where a PC user who pays full price isn't privied to the same DLC or updates as a console user. Upsetting? I think so as well. However, Dragon Age II even has a graphics pack that you can download seperately for PC ONLY that condenses the textures and makes the whole game look prettier. Because of this good support and my excitement for the game I'm going back and pushing myself to the end of Dragon Age: Origins. Honestly, it's been a lot more fun than I remember, and I probably just didn't give the game enough of a chance.

I'm sincerely looking forward to Prey 2, so long as it ends up as a Steam release and not just a GFWL release I will be extremely happy. I generally don't buy PC games that aren't on Steam these days, Fable 3 (Whenever Lionhead decides to give it to the PC user, the wait better be worth it Peter!) and Blizzard title being the exceptions to that rule.

Alright ladies and gents, or whoever happens to be reading this. I'm off to see the new Red Riding Hood movie, which I anticipate to be a little like watching Twilight without the horrible acting (So only half bad?), with my girlfriend and see my dog at my mom's house for the first time in what feels like a few decades. Cheers.

Simply Out of Time

So I am simply don't have the time that I wish I did to play games any more. My gaming schedule has been caught up in the cross fire between 14 hours of class time and 30 hours a week spent on the job, 56 hours spent sleeping, and at least twenty or so hours spent commuting, doing homework, spending days with my girlfriend, etc. Which depresses me. A lot. Especially with this wave of upcoming games. Bulletstorm is already out, and I want to at least play it to see what all the FOX News controversy was about, not that FOX is ever really warranted in what they say. Dragon Age II is coming soon, and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is coming to the PC after that. Crysis 2 is going to be multiplayer gold when it's released on March 22, Then Portal 2 and Deus Ex are in my line up. Hopefully by the time that May rolls around I will be out of school, however, and will have plenty of time to catch up on all of these wonderful titles as well as sink my teeth into Brink. Basically, school is getting the better of me right now. Latin is the most confusing thing ever, and it's an introductory class. Also, my Critical Reasoning teacher is far too critical when grading our tests (see what I did there, with the pun?). All in all it's just another normal week since I turned fifteen and a half and got my first job. The only difference is now I get paid a lot more and can actually afford to buy the games that I don't have time to play. Since I just started this blog two days ago, I guess I should mention that I'm the Assistant Manager of a local movie theater that gets movies second run, as in just before or even when they come out on DVD. We charge $2 a ticket, and on average have about six hundred people come through on a Friday or a Saturday night. Anyways, I'm typing this when I should be translating a Latin story, so I'll let this trail off here. Peace.

What to buy...

So my most recent troubles lately have been filled with what games I should buy that are coming up, as there are a great many PC games that I would love to own but simply don't have time to play. First is Bullestorm, due out tomorrow. I foresee it being an excellent game, but the limited multiplayer makes me question whether I should invest in it now or just wait for a sale at some point down the road on Steam. Next is Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, soon to be out on Steam. I loved Assassin's Creed 2, actually played it well over 20 hours in a single week just to get to the ending. However, I question how many people will actually be in the PC servers. I face a similar problem that I did with Bullestorm with Deus Ex: Human Revolution: it will be a strictly single player game. I don't want to sink my dollars into something that is going to make me sit alone and play it, so that one will probably be on the back burner despite my love for the franchise. I'm currently thinking that Crysis 2 and Portal 2 have earned my gaming dollar. Keep in mind, I only have a PC, no console ****ing out for me. Any opinions on other games I should invest in? I'm not really lacking in the money to spend on the games, just in the will to pay for games I won't play immediately.
