I got the E79 error and the bottom right red light today. I did the whole hard drive and cable disconnect and reconnect thing,. and I'm not getting anything. The console "turns on", but I get no video or sound or anything. It just stays on my cable TV (if I'm watching TV and turn the Xbox on, it never switches from TV to the Xbox video). Any other solutions?

Oh, and is M$ gonna want to charge me to fix this if I can't? Because if they want to, they can go eff themselves. I have done NOTHING to harm the thing, and none of this is my fault. They aren't getting any more of my money.

Cliff racers in Morrowind.

Happily wandering around the countryside then the danger music starts playing as if you are in combat. You turn around, check all angles and see nothing, so you carry on going, then *bam* the screen flashes red as you take damage. Now you turn around and find a damn cliff racer has been following you and swooped down from the skies.

No matter where you went these pesky birds followed you everywhere.

Also, rats and vampires in Morrowind and Oblivion. Somehow giving me disease even though they're biting/hitting my shield. Apparently shields are an organic extension of the body.

And don't forget the terrorists with shotguns in Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2.

Idk what the policy here is about game specific problems, but I think this is common enough that maybe you guys can gimmie a quick answer :)

Basically, R6V freezes from time to time on my 360 and it's just enough that it's annoying but not a serious problem. But it just froze five times in the past twenty minutes and it's getting ridiculous. I've heard people on Live say they sent their Xboxes in for this problem and was wondering if that's what I need to do, or if it's maybe the disc's fault (I doubt it though)? Thanks...

sorry to tell you this, but you're probably gonna get ring of death very soon (maybe even tonight) this was the very same problem mine had before i got the ring of death.

I'm actually thinking about buying a core and getting a warranty this time. I was dumb not to get it the first time, but I like the 360 and don't want to keep calling India. Rather just take it back to the store for a new one. Repair shop just sends you a refurb that will die in time anyway.jackvegas21

how long do the refurbs last? i just got a refurb on thrusday, and when i got it back, it gets really hot and sounds like a damn 747. the vents feel cool, but the top of the system, the disc tray and the discs themselves get pretty hot. im afriad to play the thing for more than a half hour for fear it'll overheat. the discs dont appear to be damaged, it's just they get really hot. when i realized how loud it was, i thought that maybe there's an extra fan in there. but if there is an extra fan, it aint doing it's job. my old one never heated up, even when i left it on for about 9 hours unattended (dont ask, very long story) EDIT: also, there is a strange grinding noise when the system is reading the disc. once the game loads it stops, but i know that sound cant be good.

I just had the three red lights tonight after the problem i mentioned in this topic a while ago kept persisting. i unplugged the console and i am gonna leave it alone for a few days. is there a chance it jsut overheated and needs to cool off or something? because my cousin was up from florida this week and we were playing it alot, and i thought maybe it just got too hot. is there anything else i can do besides sending it in to get it fixed? i know someone said that they moved the 360 to another room, but i cant really do that because the only other tv i could useis the living room (which is always being used by someone and isnt good for a gaming system.)

im not sure if this is actually a problem with my 360 or my TV, but i thought i'd be safe and try to get some answers. Whenever i play a game on 360 now aftera few minutesthe screen either turns completly red, completly green or jsut goes black. and i mean a solid color. you cant see anything but a green, red or black screen. However, my PS2 and Xbox have not had these problems (i played halo for 4 hours last night and nothing happened to my xbox) the problem is especially bad in call of duty 3. i can barely even get into the actual gameplay before it goes green/red/black. it happens in gears of war after about 10-15 minutes and in splinter cell double agent after about 5 minutes. Is this just my TV (which is jsut a standarddefinition Sharp, nothing special at all about it, only cost a few hundred bucks) acting up or is my 360 screwed up? im finally getting XBL soon and i hope my 360 isnt gonna kill it for me.
