Thanks for this. I've (unfortunatley) tried all that you've suggested already but to no avail. For reference, there are 2 HDMI sockets on the telly, both of which I've tried. The only other thing I can can think of is that when I used my mate's PS3 on the TV, all of the channels were tuned. Since moving it upstairs into my bedroom, I haven't tuned them as i don't have an aerial lead. Very much doubtr that this would be it - what do you reckon?

Thanks for the responses to the forum post so far. For the record, I've tried several HDMI's (none of which work) and my TV most definitley supports full 1080 (it even has 'Playstation 3 Compatible' printed on the box!) Any other ideas would be most appreciated.

Wondered if anyone can help me with this one as having browsed through afew internet forums, I don't think I'm alone with this issue. Bought a new 40" LCD SOny Bravia TV over Christmas specifically for playing my PS3 in Hi-Res. problem I've having is that when you connect the two devices via a HDMI, the system comes up with a message that says something along the lines of 'If the setting is incorrect, the screen will switch off for 30 seconds'. You then click to proceed and it turns my TV off! I've had a new PS3 (Sony were very kind and offered me a new one but unfortunatley the new one has the same issue, even with the latest Software Update installed). I've tried 3 different HDMI leads (one from HMV, one from the official Sony Centre shop and the last one from a mate's XBox 360). None work. Finally, the odd bit. My friend tried wiring his PS3 up with his HDMI to my telly, and it worked fine! Full Hi-Res and everything! So, I'm stumped. Before anyone recommends it, I've already tried a PS3 reset (done by holding the power button till you hear multiple beaps) and I've also tried connecting the HDMI before and after the system is switched on. Neither works. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Matt
