A lot of people won't agree with me on this but I can't stand stupid RTS anymore without reacting

I'm I the only one on earth to think like this???

I just have played the WIC Demo and I still can't find what this game has to offer exactly, except eye and ear candy that everyone will be used to in an hour. (Gamespot and all the other magazines final scores are based 90% on graphics and sounds... Sad!!!) Honnestly this game cannot be called an RTS, I definitly can't find any strategy at all in this game (just like COH).

It's too fast paced, you definitly don't have the time to plan and execute an attack or a defence startegically and realistically(and BTW I don't think the word defence even exist in this game). This game is just about reacting and rushing to command points.(Also command points that don't actually have a strategic or even moral goal. (Protecting the supermarket for me is not a strategic command point, but a road, a hill, a beach, an airport, a supply route, a bridge or a town center could be one in my books). Ennmies are arriving from every direction... from what field base or road they came from???

Also I easly busted like 50 tanks in a single 5 min battle with my 2 choppers, without planning ANYTHING, just reacting. 50 tanks is almost everything Ukraine could have in tanks for a decade... and don't bother flanking tanks or pinning down an infantry while flanking them or ordering air support, it's totally useless. Hitting a tank with an M136 from front rear or side has the same effect and dommage.

I could go like that for hours

I'm just fed up with not original and dumbed down games for kids who just look at graphics and toss them away when the next good looking game is launched. When will we have real strategy games, like Total war series(I know I know there's a new expension), Close combat series(russian front and Normandy were exellent), fleet command, we can't find those anymore. I have 1000 new ideas to make new RTS games fun and realistic, I'm I the only one thinking of them.

I know it's just a demo but I don't think the whole game is that different from the demo. I will still wait for a descent strategy game.

I know I know , I'm like 4 years late... but I like old games when they are good... I'm still playing, jagged alliance, Grand Prix4 and plenty of other old games.

I read about Eve-Online(it's about time!!!) and I found the basis interesting. Is this game worth the download and a trial at least or I shouldn't touch this even with a ten foot pole attached to another ten foot pole???

Let me know

All the close combat series is missing... especially Russian front... I heard it's been re-worked and will be re-released. Close combat Normandy was good also. The new RTS games are too fast paced... You can't set-up a real long term or defensive strategy in those new games.

Hi

I feel the need to play a little of F1 racing Sim(I said SIM, not EA Arcade style) but I haven't played any of racing sim since Grand Prix 4(2002) and I would like your suggestions to buy and modify the game to reflect the 2006 or 2007 season with tracks, Car physics and skins.

I heard Rfactor could be an interesting option... your thoughts???

If you are looking for realism :

Arma : Armed Assault (Arma : Combat Operation in the US, Out on May 1st)

America's Army (It's FREE)

Are very good... these are not stupid rail shooters like 95% of FPS out now
